SQL .Net Developer/Programmer Luxembourg Contract 550-600 euros day all INC

6 months initial, will go on for 12-24-36 months for the right person.

550 – 580 / 600 euros at a push / day all inc. (more or less!!!!)

You will be the main person looking after a database called PDR that hold securities and positions for the business teams.

Some SSIS but you can be trained on that.

Some C# for UI purposes.

When new funds come in changes need to be done to the PDR system to allow investment risk division to do their work. That’s the core of this role.

Maintanance of this PDR database.

Busienss knowledge is a plus.

WPF – UI SQL .net are ideally what i need for this.

SSIS and SSRS Can be trained for the right person.

PDR: Position Data Repository.

It’s a database that stores custodians data (JPMorgan – BBH etc)

Your job is to normalize the data into shape

Agile  Scrum is KEY

Outline of responsibilities:

Experienced Agile Developer for a leading global financial services firm

Main Duties:

The person will have an in-depth knowledge of SQL and .NET and employ that knowledge within an Agile team to design, implement, and support business applications.

The ideal candidate will be a highly motivated team-player with experience of current development techniques and tools, and will help the team to progress in using them:

• SQL knowledge

• .NET knowledge

• DevOps – CI, build automation, continuous deployment, fast path to live, etc.

• Quality control of code and releases (TDD, unit testing, coding for testability).

 

Business knowledge:

• Investment securities and positions (including valuations)

• Investment risk - liquidity and stress tests

• Any other regulatory reporting experience is a plus

The candidate is not expected to be fluent in all of the above but must show a willingness to learn, adapt, and help the team.

 

JOB REQUIREMENTS

Education & Training/Qualifications:

2-5 years of experience in a similar position.

Scrum / Agile experience is required; previous scrum master experience is a plus. SAFe knowledge beneficial.

Written and spoken English; other languages would be advantageous.

Financial industry experience would be of benefit but is not essential.

 

Technical Requirements:

The client  uses a Microsoft development platform.

Essential Technical Skills :

• SQL skills.

• C# (.NET 4+).

• Entity Framework or similar OR/M.

• An ability to discuss and use different tools, architectures, and design patterns.

• A proven record of learning and adopting new technologies.

 

Desirable:

• Use of automated test / build / deployment tools.

• Reporting Services / Integration Services.

 

MY NOTES:

Systems and data flows. Support production issues. Data cleansing.

Credit Risk Reporting. 

The role is evolving, ie its changing - this is a fast change environment. You may be supporting applications.

There will be some technical development, ie hands on coding. Investigative work. Talking to the business is KEY. Develop problems and solutions for the business and understanding what they ar asking for and being sure of what they are asking for.. not just say yes but understand exactly what they want in order for you to deliver.

Business requirements and business change and solutions.

AGILE is key.

Reporting is pretty important. Some proof of concept work. Demo to business - then acceptance testing and promote code. Source control. Automation, improve process, influence process.

Develop new solutions.

This can be a contract role or contract to perm ideally?

 

 

Please note; unless you have a Luxembourg set up you need to work via an umbrella company to pay tax and social security in country. We need this done from day one. Tax and social security is circa 34%, the umbrella company pay you direct into your bank every month and the take care of all administrative work - insurance/indemnity and so on. Simple, easy, legal and a must-do for EU contracts. You have nothing to do but the work you are contracted to do and send a timesheet at the end of the month. They charge 700 euros month for the first 6 months, 550 euros there-after. This is a simple one-stop-shop and the best way to work legally in Luxembourg.

 

You can also register a UK (or other EU country) limited company in Luxembourg via an umbrella company and an A1 form - higher retention (higher take home for you), More like 79% but you will have to do your accounts and your Limited Company must be existing, ie you cannot create one especially to do this!.
