From setting up a new business to managing the cash and trade flows of an established enterprise, the Business Banking team of Relationship Managers and Business Specialists provides a range of end-to-end solutions designed to help small and mid-sized businesses reach their potential.

We are currently seeking an experienced professional to join this team in the role of Country Head of Business Banking.


  • Lead and implement in country CMB's strategic focus on Business Banking segment to drive revenue and PBT growth, and achieve key performance indicators while building a sustainable business model leading to an accelerated pace of growth in this segment and delivery of associated superior returns.
  • Develop and deploy an effective acquisition and retention strategy to increase HSBC's market share in business banking segment and gain larger share of wallet of the client base.
  • Strive for world class leading customer experience by cultivating a consistent selling and relationship management culture.
  • Ensure the team is effectively deployed to directly solicit, cross-sell, and service qualified Business Banking customers.
  • Develop appropriate country-level marketing campaigns, aligned to global campaigns (as applicable) that highlight core strengths and/or where HSBC has "the right to win."
  • Understand current economic trends and its impact on HSBC within assigned country and identify key levers to capitalise on opportunities or minimise downside exposure.
  • Facilitate the rollout of any new products ensuring that implementation happens within the agreed budgets and timelines across assigned country.
  • Drive the increase of the cross-selling of GTRF, GLCM, Insurance, RBWM and Card products to deepen customer relationships and diversify Business Banking's revenue stream.
  • Maintain and observe all HSBC control standards and implement and observe the Group Global Standards Policy, including the timely implementation of recommendations made by internal/external auditors and external regulators.

  • An experienced executive with broad-based general banking experience and extensive knowledge of the HSBC and its operating environment.
  • Strong leadership, interpersonal and communication skills gained through experience of leading teams within a Commercial Banking environment.
  • Knowledge of commercial credit risk management.
  • Understanding of local operating markets.
  • Strong coaching and people management skills
  • Robust analytical reasoning skills are essential and experience of project management will be an advantage.
