Job Purpose *

This position provides system support for all UNIX based software by implementing, monitoring and maintaining systems and application software running under UNIX/Linux. The position also works with software vendors to provide optimum system performance and availability.

UNIX Operating System as below:

  1. Linux - (RHEL/Cent OS/Suse/Ubuntu)
  2. Solaris
  3. AIX


Key Responsibilities *

Business Performance and Management

  • Manage and ensure UNIX/AIX/LINUX Servers availibilty and performance


  • Install and hardening:

Installation and configuration of UNIX Operating System within timeframe given.

Perform hardening based on hardening checklist

  • b) Conduct Troubleshooting:

Work with the other team to resolve application problems/issue.

Communicate progress, problems and best practices to management, leads and teammates.

  • Perform Migrations/Deployment:

Migrate/Deploy code between test QA and production environments due to changes request.

  • Maximize High Availability:

High-availability design, configuration, and maintenance, including clustering and load
balancing and UNIX operating system related

  • Perform Operating System Patching

Perform and coordinate Operating System patching based on patch release by principal
(endorse by security team) within timeframe given

  • Documentation:

Create project documentation and best practice for UNIX Operating system when require by project

  • Develop Best Practices:

Gathers all supported UNIX operating system best practices and standards for tested implementation and align with organization policy and procedure.

  • Ensure SLA and KPI met


  • Monitor and maintenance

Monitors systems capacity and performance as needed and do regular maintenance as per guideline given

  • Create/maintain best practice UNIX Operating configuration


People Management
  • Good communication with other team members


Regulatory Compliance
  • Ensures all operations are in compliance with Group, local and regional regulations
  • Ensures compliance with regulatory requirements (eg. MAS, SGX, etc. ) and external auditors
