Lead/Senior Test Engineer (Integration Developer)
About the Role
The NI Controller Delivery squad is looking for a Lead/Senior Test Engineer to perform the various testing activities.

As a Lead/Senior Test Engineer, you will be part of a dynamic software development team environment where your testing skills will be crucial to the delivery of mission critical financial software to the global financial industry following structured development approaches in Agile methodologies.

You will undertake Integration Testing activities of medium to high complexity related to software components. A mix of white box and black box test approach will be used on an ad-hoc basis. You will also be required to do development work related to software testing frameworks. Given the mission critical nature of our business, strong emphasis is placed on quality, security, availability, resiliency, scalability, performance, and system resources consumption. It is expected that suitable candidates adhere to a structured testing environment and will actively contribute to delivering software to the quality expectations of our customers.

What to expect: 1. Lead the testing activities in NI Controller
a. Plan test activities across 4 testing resources (3 existing + this role) against priority
b. Coordinate testing activities across cluster e.g. testing activities in PAC environment, represent NI squad for activities within the Alliance Cloud test cluster
c. Align activities and expectations with new Alliance Cloud test strategy
d. Be the CoE in terms of functional and test specific knowledge (e.g. automation code) knowledge among the testers
e. Contribute towards the testing activities within the squad: writing/review/executing test cases etc.
f. Report on test related items within the squad - e.g. coverage (manual v. automation), success/fail, etc.
g. Actively detect and report findings in automation
2. Plan testing roadmap for NI Controller
a. Understand and identify plan to unblock and improve the situation of automation tests in NI today, given the capacity, skillset, and priorities within the squad
b. Identify strategy to transition from manual testing approach to fully automation test approach (considering capacity, skillset and priorities)
c. Own the testing framework, including identify areas to improve/work on as the team progress, and contributes towards test automation
d. Contribute towards automation that would benefit the squad in a larger context, e.g. testing of the NI deliveries in PAC
3. Contribute towards the squad delivery
a. Contribute towards problem investigation if there are any findings. Identify area went wrong for findings and/or propose solution whenever necessary
b. Understand and track the list of open items/findings within the squad. Actively follow-up on the items (to external parties and/or Product Owner as well) whenever necessary
c. Participate in reviewing the requirements and/or acceptance criteria for user stories planned. Raise concern and/or provide analysis at early stage before dev starts whenever applicable (e.g. will the new requirement/approach work with the existing mechanism today?)
d. Act as (one of) the CoE for service requests and/or findings from other squads

Essential Technical Skills / Knowledge:
• Knowledge of testing methodology / risk management
• Experience in unit, integration, end to end and regression testing
• Development skills in Java
• Exposure to various OS platforms: Linux (Red Hat), Windows, UNIX (Oracle Solaris, AIX, HPUX)
• Unix Commands
