Job Purpose:
  • Assist Regional Markets Ops leads in driving digital and process automation initiatives across Markets Ops in APAC

Job Background/context:
  • The position is based at KLCSC, Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia
  • Candidate will have to work closely with Regional Markets Ops Leads & Country Markets Ops Head to identify and assess opportunities for process improvement/automation/digitization
  • Candidate to partner very closely with the global and regional tech teams to identify and assess automation solutions and work with the regional & country operations teams to implement it in APAC
  • Requires good analytical skills in order to filter, prioritize and validate potentially complex material/solution from multiple sources and constantly driver automation solution across Markets Ops in APAC
  • Candidate will work independently and should be self-motivated
Key Responsibilities:
  • Able to understand user/business requirements to propose robust technical solution
  • Assist the Regional Markets Ops Leads in definition of project scope, requirements and objectives involving all relevant stakeholders and ensuring technical feasibility
  • Manage project scope, schedule changes with all stakeholders
  • Should be able to manage deliverables with minimum supervision
  • Exposure to Agile delivery methods
  • Provide development oversight for project team in terms of architecture compliance, interface design & review
  • Proactive and provide quick turnaround to business requirements and management requests
  • Proven ability to translate user requirements into direct system solutions
  • Good understanding of Capital Markets Operations product/process knowledge
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills
  • Proven ability to manage multiple project deliveries
  • Proven ability to establish and maintain business partnerships and client relationships
  • Good experience of managing the people side of change to ensure buy-in and commitment to solutions implemented and overcome resistance
  • Experience of managing project teams and motivating people to deliver without line management authority
  • Strong numerical and analytical skills including root cause analysis and at least basic statistics used in understanding causality
  • Experience of data collection, sampling and measurement development and implementation
  • Commercially aware and able to create solid business cases
  • Experience of working closely with IT to deliver targeted 'process-led' solutions
  • Self-starter, used to working under own initiative
Skills Required
  • Demonstrable understanding of
    • Capital Markets products
    • Middle Office and Operations daily processes and controls
    • LEAN, Six Sigma practices
    • Project management and business analysis


  • A recognized Bachelor's Degree preferably in Banking, Business, Finance, Economics, Accounting or Management.
  • Minimum 4 years of working experience in related field with good Banking Operations knowledge especially in Corporate Finance
  • Proficient with computer software and applications
  • Willing to work staggered/shift hours and on public holidays
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills
  • Team player and able to work in a highly challenging environment
