Deloitte Southeast Asia is searching for a suitable candidate to join the team of the regional United Nations Team as a Business for Peace Expert.

The United Nations Team within Deloitte Southeast Asia is fast growing and dynamic. In view of its regional expansion, the firm is seeking to hire a Business for Peace Expert to support its work for the United Nations and Not-for-Profit and Donor Organizations. The position will be based in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.

Work you'll do

The Business for Peace Expert will work on several tasks, including:

  • Business development including actively seeking out new clients and partners
  • Identify priority activities as well as advise on business strategies
  • Develop and implement solutions for clients across SEA
  • Increase awareness and engagement on peace and business issues through delivering workshops, capacity building trainings and thought leadership

Requirements:
We are looking for an analytical, result-driven and flexible person who thrives working both individually and as part of a team. Suitable candidates will fulfill the following requirements:

  • Bachelors in international relations, peace and conflict studies, economics, business or other relevant discipline required. Masters or equivalent is preferred
  • 5+ years of full-time experience working in a business and peace related sector
  • Knowledge of conflict and peacebuilding issues, trends, policies, and approaches to development in Southeast Asia
  • Governmental, non-governmental and/or private sector experience reflecting conflict sensitivity at a strategy and/or operational level
  • Experience working with companies, business/industry associations, UN entities, Foundations and relevant government institutions in post-conflict and conflict zones is preferred
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills with fluency in English (additional proficiency in Southeast Asian or official UN language is an asset)
