We are delighted to launch the Standard Chartered Bank Malaysia's STAR Programme, designed to nurture and prepare local young talent for a rewarding career in banking.
If you are an ambitious self-starter with strong entrepreneurial spirit, who strives for excellence, and has strong interest in building a career in banking, this is the programme for you.
This exciting 9-month programme takes you through a journey in Retail Banking, Global Banking, Commercial Banking, Islamic Banking, Wealth Management and Risk Management.

The STAR Programme's Job Description; Development
- A highly capable and committed individual who is driven with strong interest and inclination towards building a career in the financial services
- Possesses either a Master's Degree or a Bachelor's degree in any discipline with a minimum CGPA of 3.20 or upper second class honours
- Acquired up to 2 years of working experience
- Strong interest and inclination towards building a career in banking
- Strong problem-solving, analytical and numerical capabilities
- Outgoing personality with a strong desire to learn and enhance leadership capabilities
- Fluent in English and Bahasa Malaysia
- Ready to explore and work in an organisation with strong international presence across Middle-East, Africa, Asia, Europe and America
Understanding the Bank's strategy and the different products it offers Gain knowledge in front, middle and back office particularly Relationship Management, Risk, Compliance and Operations Build knowledge through classroom training sessions Enjoy the on-the job training opportunities Work on the assigned real life project and share the outcome with the Senior Management Learn from assigned mentors and buddies Identify your strengths, development areas during the programme and taking into account constructive feedback from various Senior Management team Participate and drive the sustainability programme Accountability
