My client, a leading Financial Services firm based in Malta are seeking to engage the services of 1 x Project Manager and 1 x Business Analyst on a 2 year FTC to help deliver a bank-wide AML/CFT programme of work in conjunction with the European Regulator. *The role will be based in Malta and the Project Manager and the Business Analyst will be expected to be located-or be willing to re-locate-full time in the country.*

Project Manager - - AML CTF Programme

The Bank is developing a range of initiatives related to Anti Financial Crime, Anti Money Laundering and Combatting Terrorist Financing (AML CTF) that need to be implemented within an agreed timeframe. The programme is headed by the AML CTF Programme Manager and is being overseen by the Bank's Governance, Risk and Compliance Steering Committee, which is chaired by the Chief Risk Officer.

Role Description

Specific experience, skills and knowledge required

  • Bachelor's or higher degree in business or related subject
  • 7+ years experience of project management, with at least one project management role in a major company (e.g. recognised consultancy, international bank or international corporate)
  • Previous experience of Project/Programme Management desirable
  • A strong demonstrable track record of planning, executing, controlling and closing projects and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously with minimal supervision clear track record of managing a PMO office, including developing appropriate tools, benefits definition and realisation and financial management
  • Experience of managing the complete lifecycle of a project a team of 2 to 12 people
  • Clear proven experience of managing managers
  • Experience of project management using AGILE or PRINCE2 methodology or equivalent
    Strong skills in creating and maintaining project and programme plans, including risks, actions, issues, dependencies

Generic experience, skills and knowledge required

  • Highly efficient in resource planning and tasks assignment
  • Knowledge of benefits and dependency mapping, risk management and resource planning
  • Highly proficient IT skills in Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and MS Project
  • Line management experience
  • Ability to build lasting relationships with key stakeholders
  • Ability to competently mediate disagreements and negotiate agreeable resolutions
  • Training and coaching of project staff
  • Knowledgeable and experienced in efficient Change Management methods
  • Lead the project team which could comprise of staff across the organisation
  • Ability to communicate and interact at all levels of the organisation
  • Respected leader and role model
  • Handles difficult personnel situations directly, using appropriate discretion & HR advice

Experience, skills and knowledge preferred (additional attributes we would ideally like to see, but are not role requirements)

  • Knowledge of banking and/or financial services
  • Knowledge of AFC, AML and CTF
  • Experience of setting up or building a PMO function
