MIRA Mexico is offering an Analyst position within the FIBRA Macquarie team. The role requires strong analytical and interpersonal skills, an interest in investing, and an ability to learn new skills quickly in a fast-paced and exciting work environment. As an investment professional in the MIRA team, the Analyst will work with senior executives on portfolio management and the execution of new real estate investment opportunities.

Macquarie Infrastructure and Real Assets (MIRA) is a leading global alternative asset manager specializing in infrastructure, agriculture, real estate and energy investment management. With over 450 professionals globally and two decades experience, MIRA currently manages approximately $100 billion in AUM which includes over 100 portfolio companies, approximately 300 properties and 3.6 million hectares of farmland across 23 countries.

In the Americas, MIRA has a well-established track record and more than $14 billion in equity under management. The investment team in Mexico, comprising 20 staff based in Mexico City, is primarily responsible for investing and managing:

  • FIBRA Macquarie México (FIBRA Macquarie) is a real estate investment trust (FIBRA) listed on the Mexican Stock Exchange (Bolsa Mexicana de Valores), which invests in industrial, commercial and office property in Mexico. FIBRA Macquarie's portfolio consists of 277 industrial properties and 17 retail/office properties, located in 24 cities across 19 Mexican states (as of September 30, 2016)
  • Macquarie Mexican Infrastructure Fund (MMIF) is Macquarie Group's first managed fund in Latin America, and is the first peso-denominated fund focused solely on investment opportunities in Mexican infrastructure projects

The Analyst will play a key role in the team, including:

  • Responsibility for the financial modelling and analysis of the fund’s operations
  • Assisting with updating and managing property acquisition models
  • Developing business plans and strategy, including identifying and delivering operational and financial improvements
  • Supporting in the execution of financing transactions in the ongoing capital management of the fund
  • Assisting with the day-to-day management of the funds’ debt obligations (i.e. preparation, review and delivery of reporting requirements, calculating debt metrics and monitoring compliance with all debt covenants, and loan provisions)
  • Supporting the execution of M&A transactions
  • Assisting with property budget preparation and reforecast process
  • Compiling industry research and helping to develop market intelligence
  • Assisting with ad hoc reporting and central funds management projects as required
  • General Risk Management and process improvement

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor (or higher education) degree in economics, finance, mathematical or engineering
  • Strong understanding of financial statements, accounting and finance
  • Highly numerate with strong financial modelling skills and proficiency in Microsoft Excel
  • Sound business judgment and an analytical, pragmatic and creative approach to problem solving
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English and Spanish
  • Strong organizational and time management skills
  • Be adept at problem solving and ability to work accurately in a fast-paced and demanding environment
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously

The ideal candidate will have prior experience or genuine interest in real estate and funds management.
