Finance Group Treasury (GT), Global Standards & Network Support is looking for a (Senior) Associate Finance Control advisor


Finance Group Treasury (GT) supports GT Management in optimizing ING's balance sheet through:

  • Management information, analysis & advice and business control activities
  • Driving the implementation of innovative, forward looking balance sheet steering information
  • Targeting global standardisation and streamlining of relevant processes, tools and systems

Global Standards & Network Support
The Global Standards & Network Support team consists of controls and process experts with knowledge of the Treasury processes, systems and controls. Furthermore, the team has a broad knowledge of Treasury and Capital Management activities, financial instruments, the "global processing centre" and processing systems.

The primary task of the Finance team is to set financial controls and process standards for Group Treasury and to ensure compliance. Furthermore, the team acts as a global support & service team for Business Control and MI activities in network locations worldwide.

Job description: (Senior) Associate Finance Control Advisor
You will be working as a proactive and hands on partner in the Finance GT organisation. You will extensively interact with Business Control in Amsterdam and the locations and Global Finance Services teams to streamline activities, processes and procedures relevant to (financial) reporting. To fulfil this role, content wise knowledge of how Treasury works, will be very helpful. You need to be a strong communicator to understand your clients needs and translate this to an efficient WoW.
Responsible for:
  • Supporting the Treasury business control function in the locations in understanding global definitions, standards and processes
  • Supporting the business controllers in aligning their internal controls, analyses and reports with the global standard
  • Advising on improvements in the global processes
  • Advising on and defining global standards
  • Contact between business control teams and services teams during "onboarding" projects
  • Supporting GT Finance teams in looking for the best way to work together in a agile way
  • Backup role regarding the financial close and SOX process

Who are we looking for?
For this vacancy the following characteristics will best fit:
  • A Bachelor's and/or Master's degree in Economics or Business Administration
  • 3 to 5 year experience in controlling processes and financial and/or management accounting
  • Banking knowledge (pre: including Treasury)
  • Knowledge of financial accounting (and IAS39/IFRS9 hedge accounting) and relevant Finance processes
  • Pro-active, ambitious, hands-on mentality
  • Service-oriented
  • Focused on process improvement
  • Presentation skills, i.e. experienced with producing flow charts and standardisation of procedures
  • Team player, with the ability to work independently;
  • Fluent speaking and writing skills in English
