The Research Analyst will support the EMEA Macroeconomic Research team of a leading global investment bank. The role is primarily focused on macroeconomic analysis, economic forecasting, econometric modelling, and interpretation of economic developments across developed and emerging markets. We are seeking a candidate with prior experience in economic research, strong analytical capabilities, and the ability to translate economic data into actionable insights and written research content.

Responsibilities:

1. Analyze macroeconomic developments, economic indicators, and policy trends across developed and emerging market economies.
2. Conduct economic research and contribute to macroeconomic forecasts, thematic analysis, and country-level assessments.
3. Perform econometric analysis and statistical modelling using time-series and panel data techniques.
4. Interpret economic data releases and assess their implications for financial markets and economic outlooks.
5. Write concise research notes, economic commentary, and support regular publications for internal and external stakeholders.
6. Assist senior economists in developing macroeconomic views and thematic research projects.
7. Gather, maintain, and validate macroeconomic datasets from public and proprietary sources.
8. Create charts, visualizations, and analytical materials to communicate economic insights effectively.
9. Support the production of daily, weekly, and quarterly research deliverables.
10. Monitor key economic, political, and market developments affecting EMEA and global economies.

Requirements:

1. Strong understanding of macroeconomic theory, monetary policy, fiscal policy, inflation dynamics, and business cycle analysis.
2. Proven experience interpreting economic data and assessing implications for economies and financial markets.
3. Experience in econometric modelling, statistical analysis, and forecasting techniques.
4. Proficiency with statistical software such as EViews, Python, R, Stata, or similar tools is a plus.
5. Advanced Excel and data visualization skills.
6. Ability to communicate complex economic concepts clearly through written research and presentations.
7. Strong analytical thinking, problem-solving ability, and attention to detail.
8. Ability to work independently on research projects and manage multiple priorities.
