This is a Head of Compliance Advisory role for a wealth manager based in the Middle East. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the Fund maintains legal and regulatory compliance in respect of its business conduct, avoiding investigation and sanctions by relevant authorities and protecting the Fund's reputation.

Core Responsibilities

Sets and maintains the Fund's standards in the form of code of conduct and other relevant policies

 Sets overall business conduct compliance framework and related policies (including but not limited to Anti-Bribery & Corruption policy, Gifts and Hospitality, Conflict of Interests, Contractual Obligations (Post-Deal), Personal Account Dealing (Staff & Board), amongst others

 Validates existing policies and manage exceptions handling process for implementation of strategy and standards

 Tailors separate business conduct compliance frameworks to fit specific conditions of all departments across the fund as required

 Defines strategy and global standards for business conduct compliance components (e.g. anti-bribery, anti-corruption, confidentiality, conflict of interests, market conduct, contractual obligations and personal account dealing)

 Advises the 1st Line of Defence in the Fund on implementation of Business Conduct standards;

 Identifies changes in legal / regulatory requirements or stakeholder expectations and develops effective response strategies accordingly

 Receives and challenges subsidiary business conduct compliance assurance plan and output

 Supports and challenges reporting view on business conduct risk exposure, instructing and performing reviews as required

 Shares regional and international best practices, striving for constant improvement of business conduct risks control

 Works closely with the team to identify and analyse emerging business conduct risks as well as determine effective mitigation methods and exit management

 Train the business within the Fund and across portfolio companies (in cooperation with the Governance Function)

 Coordinates background screening for new employees and monitors compliance of existing members of the staff

 Promotes business conduct compliance awareness across all departments and leads regular knowledge-sharing sessions targeted at every member of the staff

 Ensures all members of the staff are adequately trained and certified as well as meet all requirements specified by local and international financial supervisory entities relevant to investment activity performed by the fund
