Business Function
Group Finance aims to deliver world-class standards in reporting, financial planning and finance processes. We provide insights and analyses that help the bank make sound business decisions - whether in the areas of product development or customer profitability. We also provide capital management, business planning, forecasting, and tax and accounting advisory services.
The bank is also a certified Accredited Training Organisation (ATO) for the Singapore Qualification Programme by the Singapore Accountancy Commission and an Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA) Approved Employer.
In 2021, DBS launched the New Cost Allocation program (NCA) in Singapore. The program enables data-driven/ driver-based allocations, provides cost transparency and supports strategic business decisions like pricing differentiated by customer/ product/ channel.
The bank has also recently embarked on a large-scale transformation to reimagine end to end customer/ product journeys, implement horizontal organisations and a data-driven operating model (DDOM). We plan to leverage NCA to enable the following DDOM target outcomes:
  • Enable a drive to digital: Business adoption of data-driven/ driver-based cost allocations at customer /product/ channel level
  • Develop productivity framework along with business and drive DDOM Control Tower(s) and rituals
  • Customer level P&L analytics for behavioural micro-segmentation / additional use cases
The delivery of this complex program requires a very capable, independent, and highly motivated person to support DDOM use cases and to roll-out NCA in other markets.

Key Responsibilities
Lead data-driven operating model (DDOM) use-cases to help the Group drive P&L efficiency
  • Develop and drive adoption of unit cost/ driver-based efficiency measurement framework across the organisation
  • Provide analytical insights and perform predictive analytics to enable business to identify/ monetise cost opportunities
  • Work closely with business to align on success metrics and requirements to measure efficiency/ productivity
  • Identify and implement metrics for DDOM Control Tower
  • Work closely with Tech to automate use-cases/ design
Support the launch of New Cost Allocation (NCA) program across regional markets (e.g. HK, India)
  • Conduct data analyses to assist business insights generation
  • Understand business requirements in cost management through close engagement with business teams
  • Translate business requirements into data model; working closely with Tech/ Finance to automate data requirements
  • Document the cost model for transparency and business continuity

Requirements
We are looking for candidates with the following qualifications:
  • 5-7 years of work experience in business strategy & analytics roles. Candidates from a strategy consulting background (e.g. Big 4, top tier consulting firms) or from internal corporate Strategy teams would be preferred.
  • Excellent MS Excel skills a must; candidate must be comfortable working with large datasets
  • Programming skills good to have (not mandatory) - as we work on the cusp of business and technology, experience in (or willingness to self-learn) programming languages like Python/ SQL would help the candidate excel in the role
  • Experience in financial services/ banking preferred (but not mandatory)
  • Experience in Asian markets, especially Singapore preferred
  • Reputable undergraduate degree with honours
