This role sits within the Singapore branch of VTB Capital with currently consists of a headcount of 7 permanent members of staff. The role provides the job holder with the opportunity to gain exposure to a wide range of finance responsibilities such as management reporting, costs monitoring and regulatory reporting within the FI industry. The job holder will need to get familiarised with the various applications, systems and internal processes within VTBC in a short period of time and be able to multi-task across a range of duties after a period of cross training, etc.

Principal Responsibilities

These will include:

  • Manage a portfolio of accounts payable responsibilities for the international offices
  • Prepare payments forecasts for funding purposes
  • Review and ensure that vendors payments and staff reimbursements are within Bank’s policies limits and appropriate approvals are obtained before reimbursement
  • Ensure timely and accurate submissions of intercompany billings (including accounts receivable)
  • Prepare accurate accounting journals for postings into Navision (e.g. reclassifications, nostro breaks etc)
  • Ensure accurate and timely completion of monthly schedules for balance sheet substantiation
  • Prepare ad-hoc reports as required by tax or management
  • Ensure timely response to internal and external queries
  • Bi-annual UK Payment Practices and Performance Reporting
  • Perform system enhancement UAT when required
  • Monitor incoming SWIFT queries and ensure they are attended in a timely manner
  • Assist with both external and internal audit relating to accounts payable


The role will allow the job holder to develop their skills in respect of knowledge of the AP processes across International offices and provide an opportunity to develop their communication skills including liaising with colleagues across the International locations as well as getting a broad understanding of how a global finance team functions.


The job holder must be able to work independently though supervision will be provided by the local Finance Manager and Head of Finance. They will also need to work closely with the other members of the Finance team in Singapore and London as well as with local colleagues generally. The job holder will also gain exposure and cross-training opportunities across a wide range of other Finance functions and roles while assisting with the Singapore team coverage and ad hoc requirements.


Key Competencies & Qualifications

  • At least 3 years working experience in a finance environment
  • Experience working in Financial industry would be an advantage
  • Obtained LCCI in Bookkeeping, CAT, diploma in accounting or pursuing accounting related qualifications
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word and Excel)
  • Experience in Microsoft Navision and SWIFT would be a plus
  • Good communications skills and team player
  • Meticulous and well-organised
