About the Role

The Credit Risk division is responsible for analysing and assessing all credit and equity exposures taken by Macquarie, to minimise the risk of loss arising from failure of counterparties to repay loans or honour contracts. Credit is also responsible for undertaking reviews of counterparties and transactions and establishing appropriate limit frameworks. On principal transactions, Credit works with deal teams to understand risk vs reward profiles and develop risk mitigation strategies.

As a result of continued growth in Asia, including significant activity in the green energy space, we are seeking a talented individual to join the Credit Risk team in Sydney or Singapore. Partnering with businesses in the region, the candidate will assist in the analysis of project finance and principal equity transactions (with a focus on renewable energy). Working as part of a high profile team that deals extensively with senior management, the candidate will analyse complex transactions in a deal oriented environment.

This team are responsible for overseeing the credit team's review of financial models, sensitivity analysis, due diligence materials (technical, legal etc.) and ensure that the scope and quality of due diligence is appropriate. Attending site visits, engaging with technical advisors, and identify technical project risks. Reviewing project documents (e.g. PPA, EPC, O&M), financing agreements, and transaction agreements (e.g. SPA, SHA) to expose any clauses that may impact the risk vs reward profile of the transaction. Engaging with senior deal team members to ensure appropriate risk mitigation strategies are adopted by the deal team. Finally, assessing the risk vs reward profile of transactions and present investment recommendations to team leaders and senior Credit approvers.

You will have 1+ years of risk, legal and/or investment experience within project finance, principal investments, funds management, or private equity roles.
