Assistant Manager, Solution (Distribution)

You will support Competency Centre Manager, Health Systems, to support in-house development for Dependants' Protection Scheme System. You will be responsible to understand user requirements, provide solutions, monitor and review deliverables to ensure high quality product. You will also be responsible for incident and problem management to ensure all production defects are resolved and fixed within SLA.


  • Collaborate with Business Analyst to understand and clarify user requirements.
  • Provide technical consulting to Business Analyst, end user and management.
  • Lead, review and propose technical solution and integration solution.
  • Manage and review the delivery from development team to ensure good quality of delivery.
  • Ensure development team adhere to Income SDLC and release management policies.
  • Monitor and track timeline to resolve UAT defects, understand the root cause and review the solution. Ensure all UAT defects are fixed within agreed timeline.
  • Monitor and support production deployment, collaborate with vendor, Business Analyst, Quality Assurance and IT Operation to ensure smooth application release.
  • Monitor and manage production support to ensure incidents and problems are closed within SLA.
  • Ensure adherence to development practice and standards. Ensure required documents are updated timely.
  • Liaise with IT Operation and Risk & Control teams in matter related to IT infrastructure, middleware and security.

  • Degree holder in Computer Engineering / Science, Information Technology or equivalent
  • Project management qualification is preferred.
  • At least 5 years of application development and team lead experience preferably in Health insurance Domain
  • Solid understanding of software development life cycle models (Waterfall and Agile) as well as knowledge in project management principles and practices
  • Solid understanding of Incident and Problem Management principles.
  • Proficient in the following skillset:

    - Java, Spring, Javascript, React.js, Node.js, REST, JSON, XML, SOAP, HTML5, CSS, JQuery.

    - Apache, Weblogic, Oracle DB

    - Knowledge in SOA, ESB, API

    - Windows, Unix, Linux
  • Strong interpersonal skills including mentoring, coaching, collaborating and team building
  • Strong advocate of standards and challenge status quo with new and emerging technology to address new business challenges.
  • Excellent oral and written communications skills and experience interacting with both business and IT individual at all levels including the executive level
