We are currently seeking a high caliber professional to join our team as Assistant Vice President, Business Standards.

Principal responsibilities

  • Assist with setting strategic direction for the Financial Crime standards locally
  • Support in developing Financial Crime Risk Maturity Assessment capability for Insurance and roll out relevant business and functions
  • Ascertain adequate operational planning, analysis and reporting across the business & functions
  • Prepare and assist the local Insurance Financial Crime Risk Management Forum
  • Prepare and support Manger to furnish Senior Management with information, test and challenge appropriately
  • Ascertain coordination and consistent execution across the Insurance business
  • Work with all Lines of Business, Insurance Business Services and High Net Worth Ops teams, et cetera. to ascertain the oversight of Financial Crime Services are robust and policies and guidance are adhered to
  • Assist in preparing Financial Crime Risk policies and communicate update to business and functions

  • Educated to degree level in Accountancy, Finance, Business Administration, Technology or related field
  • Track record of operational excellence and change execution
  • Proven ability to analyse situations and solve operational problems
  • Experience of managing Audit or Internal Control teams
  • Demonstrable insurance business knowledge
  • Able to plan, track and control operational activities
  • Understanding of HSBC strategy, organisation, systems and processes
  • Knowledge of the external environment for example. regulatory, political, competitors et cetera.
  • Drive and motivation to ensure delivery in a challenging environment
  • Track record of positive interactions across the business and functions
  • Proven ability to articulate issues concisely in the language of the business
  • Relationship management, collaboration and influencing skills
  • Ability to communicate effectively and confidently across cultures in the organisation
  • A strong team player and able to work with other business and functional teams member and line managers
  • Proven behaviour to do the right thing, take accountability personally, demonstrating good time management and commitment to the assigned deliverables
