We are currently seeking a high caliber professional to join our team as Associate Director, Structured Banking.

Principal responsibilities

  • Take a lead role in the origination and execution of event driven corporate and structured transactions across the Bank
  • Assist in the delivery of the Bank's arranging, underwriting and structuring of loan products for clients across South East Asia
  • Lead negotiations, discussions, pitches with Mergers and Aquisitions advisers, clients and prospective clients
  • Undertaking credit assessment and detailed cash flow modelling within tight deadlines
  • Interpretation and summarisation of detailed due diligence reports
  • Negotiation and execution of loan legal documentation, with the ability to act as the deal team lead on such matters
  • Proactively and frequently be involved in the regional Mergers and Acquisitions market, assisting the team to deliver appropriate debt financing opportunities
  • Work with the Head of Structured Banking and other key stakeholders to deliver financing solutions for Corporate Banking clients
  • Collaborate and work collectively with all Global Banking, Markets and Corporate partners and their client base
  • Take a leading role in origination and business development activities for the Structured Banking team across South East Asia
  • Keep abreast of the rapidly changing and increasingly complex regulatory environment, and ensure that any changes are promptly implemented


Qualifications
Requirements
  • Experience working in relevant environments such as Corporate Banking, Debt Capital Markets, Leveraged & Acquisition Finance and Project Finance
  • A comprehensive understanding of commercial and financial risk environment
  • A demonstrable track record of originating and executing loan transactions relevant to the Corporate Banking environment
  • A sound understanding and proven ability to interpret and work with financial data
  • Extensive experience of using relevant software packages which include Word, Excel, Powerpoint where financial modelling experience is vital
  • Experience of planning and prioritising their own time effectively, concentrating on key commercial issues, aware of their responsibilities and committed to delivering these efficiently
  • Ability to build trusted relationships within a team environment through consistent, high quality, on time delivery of assigned work
  • Experience of building effective networks across business areas and developing relationships based on mutual trust
  • Ambition and capability to develop knowledge and understanding and to continue their professional development within HSBC
  • Role relevant qualifications such as suitable professional qualifications are desirable but not essential
  • A comprehensive understanding of the regulatory frameworks and compliance requirements associated with financial services and experience of working within these
