Investment Services Public Markets
Investment Services Public Markets, or ISPM, is an integrated team that provides investment service support for public market investment activities strategically and tactically. The team is responsible for business management functions for all public market investment strategy groups, as well as GIC’s global trade operations, custody control and asset servicing such as income entitlements, mergers and acquisitions and other corporate events of our underlying investments, futures and derivative operations, collateral management, pricing and rates, market data and rebalancing operations. The coverage extends across a spectrum of products such as equities, bonds, money market, foreign exchange, futures, collateralized securities and other derivatives.
We are looking for a dynamic, self-motivated and technically competent individual with an interest in investment pricing, valuation, index, market and reference data solutions to join us as an Associate, AVP or VP. The candidate will be part of a team to provide business-focused investment services to enable sharper investment execution in the public markets space.
1. Build up new platforms to provide pricing, valuations, index, market and reference data to equity, fixed income, portfolio execution and hedge funds strategies, evaluating business and information needs, and formulating data solutions to manage stakeholders’ requirements.
2. The candidate will work with the investment teams and technology group to provide in-business index, pricing and valuation services to enable trade execution and management, performance reporting and collateral management, where relevant. Primarily responsibility would include:
•Drive the transformation of existing platforms (system), workflows (process) and train existing teams (people), involved in sourcing for pricing, index and market reference data accordingly, while bringing in new techniques and technologies to drive better investment services for investment teams.
•Adopt user-empowered tools to produce consistently high-quality and timely index, pricing and market reference data to support investment execution.
•Drive the development of an efficient, robust & scalable next-generation operating system with flexible & configurable value-driven workflows
3. Provide thought leadership and advice across the department and participate in thematic studies/projects both within and across departments.
•Advanced degree in technical fields - Computer Science, Applied Mathematics, Engineering, Financial Engineering, Statistics, Operations Research, etc.
•Minimum 5 years of working experience in fund management, banking industry or large-scale data operation fields
•Strong experience in one or more of these areas: Data Acquisition, Data Creation, Knowledge Discovery from Unstructured Data, Data Cleansing and Quality Assurance, Data Analytics, Data Visualization
•Working knowledge of software development best practices and process design
•Working knowledge of financial instruments, markets and valuation models
•Self-starter with excellent interpersonal and communication skills with strong learning agility
•Driven to capitalize on opportunities to leverage market utilities, services and technologies to advance departmental capabilities
•Exposure to technology such as Python, Tableau, BluePrism, will be an advantage.
