Position Overview

Overview of the Role / Responsibilities

The position is for a Deployment Automation Engineer.

The successful candidate needs to be self motivated, a good team player, willing and able to turn their hand up to almost any task performed by the

team.

The ideal candidate will be a critical member of the Deployment Automation L3 team act as an SME for the deployment automation UrbanCode Deploy, to help design, develop integrations with existing applications within the organization and maintain the deployment platform, define best practices and technical release

notes.

The Candidate will partner with various DevOps teams within the organization, assist in the on- boarding and providing technical guidance to ensure a smooth transition to the deployment platform

Able to prioritize work effectively and ability to work with geographically dispersed technical teams including remote resources across the

globe

Able to develop solid relationships with infrastructure peers, Ops & Support, QA, and Development teams to improve system stability and availability through automation & pro-activeness

Provide support on the weekends if required to resolve and troubleshoot issues escalated to L3 support.

Experience / Background:

  • Should have experience in automating application deployments preferably IBM UrbanCode Deploy
  • Have working knowledge of software development and/or application support specifically understanding the software development lifecycle.
  • Experience in Continuous Integration Process and implementing best practices and frameworks associated with CI like Maven, Jenkins
  • Working Knowledge of UNIX / Windows and Oracle / SQL databases
  • Knowledge in writing scripts ( shell , groovy )
  • Knowledge in java programming , preferred.
  • Working knowledge of application & infrastructure monitoring tools like geneos , AppDynamics
  • Financial industry experience will be an added advantage
  • Understanding of service management frameworks and methodologies; ideally well versed with ITIL v3
