Chief Risk Officer

Our banking client is looking for a dynamic Chief Risk Officer who can provide guidance and direction to our business. This role focuses on creating, designing and implementing a risk function that supports the strategic goals of the Bank. You must have an extensive knowledge of banking activities and regulations. You will be the key point of contact with internal and external auditors and regulators, ensuring all requirements are met and remediation efforts are completed well before deadlines. This role also requires you to communicate with various stakeholders and senior management. You should have an excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities
• Responsible for overall risk management framework in accordance with the expectations of MAS and Corporate Policy for Singapore office
• Adequately identify, assess, monitor and control credit, market, operational and reputational risks in accordance with the expectations of MAS and Corporate Policy
• Establish a strong risk culture through approval of prudent policies, guidelines, and input into strategic and operating plans
• Ensure full compliance of Risk Policies and Guidelines adopted by the Bank
• Formulate strategies and direct resources and approaches to ensure effective risk management through preventive and corrective measures
• Address risk related issues flagged by MAS with inputs from various departments and Business Units concerned
• Ensure regular reporting of pertinent information like Internal Loss data, near miss history, KRI etc to senior management, Risk Committee and Head Office; which may support proactive risk management
• Conducting training and risk awareness programs for the staff

Requirements
• Graduate or Post graduate with at least 12-15 years of Risk Management experience in a mid-size to large Bank
• Preference will be given to candidates with Financial Risk Management Certification
• Sound knowledge of Banking Operations and business and an understanding of documenting complex processes, procedures and controls
• Experience in financial or regulatory reporting
• Good knowledge of project management and proven track record in delivering projects
• Good analytical skills and attention to details
• Demonstrated written and verbal skills, including experience in articulation of risks both verbally and in writing to various levels of staff, management, Internal Audit, and external regulators
