POSITION PURPOSE
The Client Implementation Manager leads client onboarding projects that can bring with them requirements outside of TRP standards. The role is accountable for the implementation of new accounts, including fund shareholder investments, separate account mandates, and support of fund launches. This requires liaising between all internal and external stakeholders to ensure all documentation and operational requirements are fulfilled prior to inception. The role will be regionally focused, but will form part of a global Client Implementation Management function and may, from time to time, be required to work on onboarding projects emanating from other regions, according to demand and regional team capacity.

PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Project management of client transitions, including new account onboarding, in-kind transfers and changes to existing client mandates across the client lifecycle
  • Develop the strategy for managing the timeline, resourcing and business cost approvals across multiple, concurrent projects with multiple deliverables and components across a varying timescale, in conjunction with the business sponsor, client and other stakeholders
  • Specific project management activities will include detailed planning, status tracking, monitoring and reporting; and stakeholder communication (internal and external (client and vendor) parties), together with chairing working group meetings, resolving issues and mitigating risks, recording decisions etc
  • Manage and coordinate a variety of project work streams with stakeholders from across the organization (e.g. Legal, Compliance, Investment Operations, Sales & Relationship Management, etc.) and be ultimately accountable for successful delivery of client account onboarding and other ongoing changes. Once completed, the individual must ensure successful handoff to the Client Operations Manager assigned to that client
  • Support internal pipeline management and operational assessment processes to ensure identification and vetting of potential hurdles and client requirements prior to the official launch of the onboarding process
  • Assist Senior Client Implementation Manager with preparation of items to be presented at monthly Global Client Governance Committee meetings
  • Active participant on identified projects and initiatives impacting the global Client Implementation Management team

PERSONAL ATTRIBUTES / SKILLS / QUALIFICATIONS
Required:
  • College degree or equivalent and 4 years of related work experience, or
  • Operational expertise and knowledge of requirements and the process for onboarding investment management clients across a variety of investment management business segments
  • Thorough knowledge of the investment management operations landscape and trends
  • Experience working with multi-asset and/or fixed income product ranges
  • Proven project management skills and capabilities
  • Critical thinking, analysis and interpretation of data
  • Performs well under time-sensitive deadlines
  • Independent worker who is results driven
  • Excellent client management and relationship building skills
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities; flexible
  • Ability to communicate technical concepts and ideas to non-technical audience
  • Experience with vendor management and negotiations

  • Ability to identify potential issues and escalate appropriately
  • Ability to negotiate through internal and client organizations for decisions and sign-off
  • Experience coordinating and directing cross-functional teams
  • Experience with project management systems, tools and methodologies

Preferred:
  • 5-7 years of related industry experience; prior experience in investment operations or service
  • Project management qualification and experience in a similar context (managing a variety of cross-functional global work streams)
  • In depth investment industry experience in client onboarding/transitions management
  • Ability to manage projects with multiple/external stakeholders
  • PMP Certification
  • Experience of working in the Asia Pacific/EMEA/Americas region
  • Chinese (Mandarin) language skills a plus (APAC only)
