Geographic Coverage: Asia Pacific & Middle East

The Role
This role is responsible for leading the compensation and benefits function and providing vision for ensuring compensation and benefits in the APAC and ME region at Cognizant Technology Solutions is competitive, meaningful, performance oriented, aligned with the global Total Rewards philosophy and objectives along with business priorities, and is simple and clearly communicated.

The ideal candidate is a motivated leader, thinks big and has a track record of operating in a fast-paced high growth environment. This role leads a team of compensation and benefits subject matter experts to ensure strong client support and partnership across the total rewards team, across HR, and with the business, to enable effective and optimized compensation and benefits strategies, plans, processes and decisions that achieve the key tenets of total rewards and enable progress towards our mission. This role will directly report to the Global Total Rewards Leader in the US and will have a dotted line working relationship with Global Compensation Programs Leader and Global Benefits Leader.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • As a member of the Total Rewards leadership team, work to establish the global total rewards philosophy, strategy and global Total Rewards framework and ensure alignment to the same.

  • Consult and partner with senior leadership in the business and in HR to anticipate future needs and interventions and design plans that can be responsive and meaningful
  • \t
  • Crate a culture of continuous analytics and monitoring of current programs in order to align to strategic priorities and talent needs such that compensation and benefits are part of the proposition that can attract, engage, and retain top talent
  • \t
  • Cultivate innovative and responsive compensation interventions and decisions at the point of new hire, transfer, promotion, and annual focal merit review cycle
  • \t
  • Lead initiatives in support of the Sales Compensation Committee, including in-depth review of proposed sales incentive plans, SPIFs, and other items governed by the Sales Compensation Committee. Provide oversight and strategic direction for sales comp governance and guidelines.

  • Monitors budget and salary structures to be internally and externally relevant and consistent
  • \t
  • Lead benefits and well-being program strategy and execution, implementing new programs as needed
  • \t
  • Lead benchmarking, survey analysis, and analytics to elevate understanding of our competitiveness with a view toward evolving the compensation and benefits programs over time
  • \t
  • Manage ongoing relationships with external consultants and suppliers (e.g. insurance carriers, brokers, market benchmark, and other benefit providers) to ensure the organization receives satisfactory standards of service and cost efficiency.

  • Foster the movement from administrative support to highly performing consultative and strategic client support; coordinate and assign work activities to enable appropriate prioritization of internal and external requests

  • Ensure proper standards and procedures are followed to enable proper controls and full compliance, develop effective and efficient governance in accordance to Global standards, strike the right balance to eliminate burdensome obstacles, and create appropriate protocols and processes that can sustain high growth as we scale and build

  • Optimize the administration of annual merit and promotion cycle, the annual corporate short-term incentive plan, and additional business area specific incentive plans.

  • Lead, mentor, and coach to the broad-based compensation and benefits team to ensure continuous learning, and improvement of technical skills and professional development skills

Qualifications & Certifications
    \t
  • 12-15 years of progressive experience in compensation and benefits with at least 5 years leading the C&B function of a large company
  • \t
  • Subject matter expert in compensation principles, practices, and analysis
  • \t
  • A strong understanding of best practices, current trends, and market benchmarks, ideally across APAC and Middle East markets
  • \t
  • Technology and Professional Services industry background preferred
  • \t
  • Ability to influence and develop strong working relationships with multiple partners, including executives, line management, his/her peers in human resources, and the broader employee population
  • \t
  • Adept at working with a global group of C&B professionals as well as within the region.
  • \t
  • Proven experience in leading and managing a high-performing team
  • \t
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Able to package and present complex analysis and recommendations clearly and comfortably
  • \t
  • Working knowledge of HCM software and data reporting, Microsoft Office including Word, PowerPoint, and demonstrated advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel (including pivot tables, VLOOKUP's, advanced formulas, and use of VBA/macros)
  • \t
  • Knowledge of labor rules and regulations of countries in APAC and Middle East.
