Societe Generale is looking for a communication professional, for a temporary replacement of 6 months. Mission based in Singapore.

Area / Context

The Communication department of Societe Generale Asia-Pacific is ensuring

  • The definition and implementation of the Communication strategy in the region (approx. 9,000 staff across 12 locations), in line with Societe Generale group communication and Asia-Pacific overall strategy and objectives
  • The promotion of Societe Generale's brand, culture, values, and business expertise to its internal and external stakeholders in the Asia-Pacific region across the different communication channels
  • The support for their communication purposes and issues of its corporate functions and business activities, principally in Financing & Advisory, Global Markets and Investor solutions, Asset Management, and Transaction Banking
The Communication department consists of a team based in Hong Kong and dedicated teams in key locations: China, India, Japan, and Singapore for SE Asia. The department is structured around the following activities

The South-East Asia sub-region encompasses 5 countries: Indonesia, Malaysia, Singapore, Thailand, and Vietnam.

Role Summary


Based in Singapore, working under the supervision of the Head of Communication - Asia-Pacific, and the CEO of Societe Generale - SE Asia, the Communications Manager is responsible for
  • Implementing the communication plan for SE Asia, integrating local implementation of global / APAC communication strategy
  • Providing communications support to SE Asia management
  • Represent communication at the Singapore Branch Management Committee and Staff Engagement Committee
The role particularly focuses to deliver on the following objectives, shared with the local business lines and HR teams
  • Promote image / employer's image
  • Support and enhance client relations
  • Generate engagement


Mission




Main Responsibilities

The scope of responsibility covers all channels promoting Societe Generale's image and activities in SE Asia, in coordination with the respective contact(s) of the regional communication team.



Branding & Advertising
  • Custodian of brand guidelines and ensure local implementation for any usage
  • Contribute to regional advertising plan and support local implementation
  • Support sourcing of merchandising products and gifts, e.g. greeting cards, corporate gifts
Partnerships & Citizenship

  • Implement activation of regional sponsorship platforms (e.g. Rugby World cup 2019)
  • Identify and manage local partnerships in line with SG's image
  • Coordinate citizenship initiatives across SE Asia
Media relations (with the support of a PR agency)
  • Identify media opportunities e.g. research, products / deals, corporate topics
  • Manage spokespersons
  • Manage crisis communication as and when relevant
Editorial & Digital Communication
  • Produce regular content, focusing on business activities and corporate culture
  • Advertise content on digital channels: CMS and community management
  • Manage digital owned media channels to deliver communication to staff and other stakeholders
  • Manage SE Asia newsletter as and when published (currently quarterly)
Events
  • Create staff engagement through events supporting Citizenship / internal social activities, in collaboration with HR and Staff Engagement Committee
  • Organize / support organization of client events locally in collaboration with Business Units
  • Support HR for student fairs and campus events
Resources, Monitoring and Strategy
  • Monitor communication budget for SE Asia
  • Follow-up and regular reporting on communication activity and impact
The role implies also to assist the other Communication team members across Asia-Pacific as and when required.

Profile

  • Proven record in developing and implementing transversal communication strategies (using different channels, targeting different audiences, and promoting a wide range of image items)
  • Experience in the financial industry
  • Strong editorial skills, with CMS command
  • Good sense of strategic use of communication and resource identification and management to deliver a strategy

Edu cation & Experience

University Degree
  • Marketing and / or Communication and/or Literature degree
Professional experience, among the following
  • Communication department in listed companies
  • Specialised communication agencies
  • Editorial or marketing roles in a media
Languages
  • Fluency in English
  • Other languages, e.g. Mandarin, Cantonese is a plus
