We are looking for a Simulation Engineer in Tokyo Japan. You need to be passionate about testing because at the heart of Simulation is to improve safety by better testing - quality and quantity. You will build out common interfaces for development teams to access our core simulation engine(s) in collaboration with the vehicle platform team. You will be working on customizing sensor behaviours and developing virtual to meet the specific requirements of dev teams, ensuring strict timing requirements are met, especially for HIL testing and working on providing solutions for SOC logging for developers for further analysis.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Collaborate​ ​with​ ​other​ ​software​ ​engineers​  ​to​ develop​ ​and​ ​maintain physically​ ​accurate​ sensor ​models​
  • Integrate our system software​ ​with​ ​LIDARs,​ ​RADARs,​ ​cameras,​ ​IMUs and​ ​GPS​ ​units
  • Resolve problems and propose solutions​ ​with​ ​and​ ​between​ ​multiple​ ​technical​ ​teams​ ​to​ ​improve, understand​ ​and​ ​ensure​ ​complete​ ​system functionality
  • Live​, ​​breathe​ and lead in ​the development​ of software​ ​practices​ ​that​ ​produce​ ​maintainable​ ​code,​ ​including​ ​automated testing,​ ​continuous​ ​integration,​ ​code​ ​style​ ​conformity,​ ​and​ ​code​ ​review
  • Develops sim engine interface & integration with vehicle platform
  • Develops virtual ECUs
  • Integration with systems of interest
  • Develops high fidelity sensor simulation
  • Support of timing requirements
  • Develops SOC logging and analytics

SKILLS / QUALIFICATIONS

  • Strong understanding of an autonomous vehicle simulator
  • Bachelor's​ ​degree​ ​in​ ​Computer​ ​Science, Computer Engineer ​or​ ​equivalent
  • Excellent C++​ or python ​software​ ​development​ ​skills
  • Familiarity with Unix/Linux systems, version control tools (Git/SVN), robotics/vehicle middleware framework (ROS/LCM)
  • Experience working with camera, lidar and radar
  • Experience working with vehicle communication methods (In-Vehicle Ethernet, CAN, LIN, MOST etc.)
  • Experience with Real-Time-Operating-Systems (QNX, RTLinux, etc.)

PREFERRED SKILLS / EXPERIENCE

  • Experience with ISO26262 Certification for software components
  • Experience​ ​with​ ​game​ ​development​ ​including​ ​commercial​ ​game​ ​engines such as Unity or Unreal
  • Vehicle dynamics simulation knowledge or previous development experience
  • Embedded software knowledge
