Corporate Real Estate Environmental /Sustainability Head



Responsibilities
  • Lead the company in ensuring the diverse activities on utilities and waste are managed and directed to meet company policies and targets.
  • Lead the development and implementation of policies and practices to reduce utilities consumption and costs and cut emissions / other environmental impacts.
  • Oversee a rolling audit of energy efficiency opportunities to establish a programme of projects and evaluate which should be prioritised each year
  • Identify opportunities for sustainability and environmental improvements in the capital improvement project programme.
  • Responsible for implementing an environmental data repository across the Group and setting up processes to collect, verify, analyse and report on the data.
  • Responsible for providing sustainability data for annual external reporting and audit of data.
  • Monitoring legislation, tracking current and emerging technical and management options for improving environmental performance and transposing this into the current context with adequate planning.
  • Responsible for direction and priorities for the Sustainability agenda from the corporate real estate function.
  • Responsible for identifying ways to minimise estates costs through Whole Life Costing etc.
  • Self-directed in the key lead responsibility for raising awareness among the Group - including among senior management - of the potential impact of the emerging sustainable development imperatives, whether from emerging legislation or best practice in corporate social responsibility.
  • Represent the Group on external bodies in the area of sustainability management.
  • Advise Director of Corporate Real Estate on wide range of issues associated with Sustainability.
  • Communicate directly with staff to raise awareness of sustainability issues and develop and oversee distribution of guidance and advice to all employee on utilities and waste management.
  • Consult with internal project teams and appointed contractors / sub-contractors to ensure they meet sustainable construction specifications.

Requirements
  • Bachelor's Degree in Energy Management, Sustainability or Engineering related discipline
  • Minimum 5 to 8 years of management experience in sustainability including strategic program development and implementation across various countries/localities
  • Have the expertise in the areas of environmental management system, waste management, sustainable supply chain, external partnerships, employee engagement, as well as sustainability reporting and CDP reporting.
  • Good communicator with ability to influence multiple cross-functional stakeholders.
  • Able to work in a diverse and fast-paced environment.
