The members of the Information Security Division are on constant alert, using their creativity and knowledge of cybersecurity, technology and business processes to develop and deliver creative solutions. In this fast-paced environment, staff collaborate to respond to current risks, while identifying and anticipating future threats. Our cyber capabilities encompass the full spectrum of services from Cyber Operations (SOC, Cyber Threat Intelligence, Vulnerability Management, Cyber Incident Response, Penetration Testing & Red Teaming, Cyber Analytics & Fraud, and Insider threat) to Cyber Architecture and Engineering (Network, Platform, Cloud, and Applications Security). Together with the CISO and his leadership team, staff provide a robust set of cyber services that provide full scope protection and response capabilities across the BNY Mellon enterprise. We help our businesses, the bank's executive team, and our board of directors understand cybersecurity risk and the steps that must be taken to create and maintain a secure environment that drives innovation.

Role:
This Senior Cyber Operations role will be an integral part of a dynamic, fast-paced cyber security team within the newly established Asia Pacific Cyber Technology Operation Center [CTOC]. The successful candidate will bring a positive, passionate attitude to the team's operational capability, by leveraging their enhanced Cyber Security knowledge along with their developed communication skills. Also being a key contributor in the 'Follow the Sun' [FTS] Cyber Operations capability you will be central in introducing key changes focusing on improving the overall operations interoperability.



Responsibilities:

  • Handle major, high impact incidents to generate clear, concise recommendations, and coordinate activities and professional communications across a range of internal and external stakeholders while working under significant pressure.

  • Lead a team of cyber experts, including working with direct and indirect reports, conducting event detection, incident triage, incident handling, and remediation.

  • Continuously develop, improve, and support cybersecurity situational awareness across the organization.

  • Develop and deliver briefings, reports, dashboards, and metrics for various levels of management to enhance the cyber security operations program.

  • Partner effectively with key stakeholders and drive improvements in interoperability within the respective Cyber Operations teams.

  • Consults with the business and operational infrastructure personnel regarding new and existing technologies. Recommends new security tools to management and reports and provides guidance and expertise in their implementation.

  • Collaborate with multiple cross functional teams in the development and execution of projects within Cyber security and technology to improve operational effectiveness.

  • Contribute in planning and execution of Cyber Exercises with internal & external agencies.

  • Contributes to the development and implementation of security architecture, standards, procedures and guidelines.

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams of legal, privacy, fraud, HR, ethics, corporate security, technology and other program stakeholders to ensure the Cyber Operations is 'Fusing' critical information across all relevant stakeholders as a matters of importance.

  • Reviews and analyzes complex data and information to provide insights, conclusions and actionable recommendations

  • Assist in identifying the continuous cyber risk from internal/external threats and investigations. Then escalate, disseminate accordingly.

  • Participates and implements security standards, procedures, and guidelines for multiple Cyber Security platforms.

  • A CyberResponse management background an advantage with demonstrable incident responseworkflow experience.

  • A goodunderstanding of all the major pillars within Cyber Security Operations i.e.Monitoring, Vulnerability Management, IR, Cyber Threat Intelligence, ThreatHunting and Forensics.

  • Excellent activelistening and collaborative skills with various audiences, including directteam members, security team and executive stakeholders, in order to perform dailycyber operational activities in a potentially stressful environment.

  • Ability tocommunicate difficult or sensitive information effectively across variouslevels and organizational lines.

  • Experienceof GRC-TRM regulatory requirements within the APAC region an advantage.

  • Experience as a team leader,supervisor, manager or similar role overseeing a group of highly qualified informationsecurity professionals.

  • Leads andprovides innovative direction and guidance for a wide array of activitiessupporting the improvement of processes and procedures.

  • Ability toprioritize tasks and time, and exercise good judgment and common sense in allactivities.

  • Possessesmanagerial skills that empower and develop others; is sensitive to others andfosters teamwork.

  • Exposure toCyber Exercise Drills would is highly desirable.

  • Experiencein reviewing cyber security analytics and disseminating accordingly to thecorrect stakeholders.

  • Excellentanalytical and problem-solving skills to solve/manage complex technical problems.

  • A goodunderstanding of current Cyber Security tools used today in operationalpractice. Any hands on would be highlydesirable.

  • Exceptionalproblem solving capabilities and strong documentation, communication skillsboth verbal and non-verbal

  • Ability toself-manage workload and goals independently in a fast-paced, multi-threaded,and deadline-driven organization.

  • Proficiencyin Microsoft Office suite, including high-quality visual presentation of datawithin PowerPoint and Visio in order to present to internal / external groups.

  • CISSP,CISM, CISA, GCIA, GCIH, or similar Certifications highly desirable.

  • Workingknowledge of Information Security & technology frameworks i.e. ITIL, NIST,ISO, COBIT

  • Bachelor'sdegree, advanced diploma in computer science or a related discipline, orequivalent work experience required, 8-10 years of experience in informationsecurity with related technology experience required, experience in thesecurities or financial services industry is a plus.
