Data Engineers | Databricks, AWS & Python | AVP and VP | Singapore

Are you a strong data engineer looking to build large-scale platforms with genuine business impact?

I’m partnering with one of the world’s largest global investment organisations to hire multiple Data Engineers at AVP and VP levels in Singapore.

You’ll build modern data and analytics platforms supporting portfolio management, trading, risk and investment operations. These are hands-on roles combining complex engineering, modern cloud technology and direct exposure to business-critical decision-making.

No Finance Experience Required

Financial-markets experience is not essential. The team welcomes strong Databricks and Python engineers from leading technology companies, global banks, fintech firms, consultancies and other data-intensive organisations.

If you have built complex platforms using Databricks, Python and AWS, the team can help you develop the required investment-domain knowledge.

What You’ll Be Doing

1. Build enterprise data and analytics platforms used by investment professionals globally
2. Develop scalable pipelines using Databricks, Python, PySpark, Spark SQL, SQL and dbt
3. Design modern lakehouse solutions covering data modelling, lineage, governance and quality
4. Build cloud-native data platforms on AWS
5. Support investment, trading, analytics and risk workflows
6. Own delivery from system design and hands-on coding through deployment and production
7. Work directly with product teams, architects, engineers and senior business stakeholders
8. Provide technical direction and mentorship at VP level

What We’re Looking For

1. Strong hands-on Databricks experience is essential
2. Commercial AWS experience is mandatory; Databricks experience gained solely within Azure will not be sufficient
3. Strong Python, PySpark, Spark SQL and SQL skills
4. Experience building large-scale data pipelines, lakehouse platforms or analytics systems
5. Knowledge of data architecture, modelling, governance, lineage and data quality
6. Exposure to dbt, Airflow, Pandas, Docker, Kubernetes, Terraform or CI/CD
7. Strong system-design, problem-solving and communication skills
8. A hands-on engineering mindset, including at senior levels
9. Team-management experience for the relevant VP position
10. Candidates should currently be based in Singapore
