Our client is a leading global banking institution. They are looking to hire an outstanding Director for Infrastructure Operations Support.

The applicant should have a strong delivery and execution background. It is essential for the applicant to have diversified global experience in the support space. With strong project management and a good understanding of budgets and financials. The role will involve working with key clients, stakeholder management, application development and production support at all levels. The applicant should have experienced in building and managing teams through both line and matrix management structures to ensure successful delivery.

Key tasks and responsibilities include:

  • Operations and Technical Support.
  • Stakeholder management, Negotiate, Escalate and Manage Business aligned Stream leads and other senior stakeholders at all levels.
  • Demonstrate an in depth understanding of at least three technologies (Networks, Distributed Computing, Storage, Messaging, Web, Virtualization) and a good understanding of the remainder.
  • Risk Management, Prioritization, Conflict Resolution
  • Manage the delivery of high quality service & support for Production Application Support. Interfacing with Business aligned IT streams within Group Technology such as Fixed Income, Equities
  • Oversight to day to day Operations & Support, liaising with Development, Infrastructure, and Production Application Support teams at all levels.
  • Manage Vendor Aligned Support teams, to ensure the day to day support requirements are delivered to a consistently high level.
  • End to end operational focus - Application, Infrastructure Support, Operational Costs & Productivity, Utilization, Quality, Incident, and Problem & Service Level Management. Drive continuous service improvement within the team.
  • Contribution toward, and attendance at, key service & relationship review meetings.
  • Transformation Program management, Consulting, Account management, Project delivery under modest timelines & budgets.
  • Work with Transformation Project teams to bring the operations in-line with the target state operating model. This measured against the project plan, timelines & budget with little or no impact to service quality.
  • Tool consolidation & re-engineering to fit the operating model and/or company strategy. This will include alignment to standard tools and reports.
  • Drive demand reduction and cost optimization initiatives to ensure that the service delivery is optimized without impacting the quality of service
  • Conduct & drive internal service improvement reviews. Driving automation and process improvements

The Successful Candidate;

  • Minimum Degree level applicant
  • Strong Command of the English language and or high level of proficiency.
  • Excellent communication skills
  • A minimum of 15 years Support experience in the banking environment
  • A minimum of 8 years of people management experience
  • Experience in dealing with Senior IT Stakeholders
  • Experience of managing a relationship with a Managed Service vendor or managing internal teams
  • Demonstrable experience in delivering a quality operational service to customers
  • Operating in a Global team environment
  • Hands on ITIL implementation experience
