The organisation is a Singapore-based payment institution regulated by the Monetary Authority of Singapore (MAS) under the Payment Services Act. The company provides cross-border payment and remittance solutions to individual and corporate clients and is focused on expanding its presence within the fast-growing payments and fintech ecosystem.
Job Description
As a Statutory Executive Director, you will:
- Serve on the Board of Directors and contribute to the company's strategic direction and long-term growth plans.
- Ensure compliance with the Payment Services Act, MAS regulations, and all applicable governance requirements.
- Oversee enterprise risk management, AML/CFT frameworks, sanctions compliance, fraud controls, and internal governance processes.
- Review and approve policies, budgets, business plans, and material transactions.
- Provide effective challenge and guidance to management on business performance and regulatory matters.
- Engage with regulators, auditors, and external stakeholders where required.
- Support the development of a strong culture of compliance, integrity, and sound corporate governance.
- Participate actively in Board and committee meetings, including risk, audit, and compliance discussions.
You must have:
- Proven experience as a Director, Chief Compliance Officer, MLRO, Chief Risk Officer, or senior executive within a MAS-regulated financial institution, payment institution, fintech, bank, or remittance business.
- Strong knowledge of the Payment Services Act, MAS requirements, AML/CFT frameworks, KYC/CDD processes, and regulatory compliance obligations.
- Demonstrated track record in risk management, governance, and regulatory engagement.
- Ability to satisfy MAS Fit & Proper requirements, including integrity, competence, and financial soundness.
- Strong commercial judgement, stakeholder management skills, and board-level communication capabilities.
- Prior Board, Audit Committee, Risk Committee, or governance experience will be highly advantageous.
- Meaningful exposure to the growing cross-border payments and fintech sector.
- Direct engagement with shareholders, regulators, and senior industry stakeholders.
