Position Description
Background: Asia Head of Market Connectivity would be responsible for market connectivity across the Asia Pacific region including software based low latency solutions and co-lo offerings.

The Market Connectivity team supports the Electronic Trading business in the Global Markets and Investment Banking Group. The team provides innovative solutions for algorithmic execution, focusing on market access for both Equities and Futures businesses.

The Asia Market Connectivity team works closely and collaboratively with the global teams in EMEA and AMRS on a shared technical platform while focusing on the priorities of the Asia business. We aim to maintain a global perspective while recognizing and responding to specific regional requirements that make each market unique. Success requires working with development, traders, quants, support and infrastructure teams to deliver a high quality, end to end solution.

Key Responsibilities

  • Hands-on technical leader who can demonstrate initiative, deliver business value and contribute to the design & architecture of the platform.
  • The individual must be able to nurture, retain, and recruit talent.
  • Contribute technically to the platform, run multiple simultaneous projects, and manage a strong team of developers.
  • Work with technology and business groups in the region and globally to deliver high quality products in a fast-paced environment.
  • The individual needs to have strong project management skills as the role will continually own multiple mandatory projects in parallel.
  • Be an advocate of best practice, agile, and SDLC

Key Requirements

Essential Skills: Technical/Business Domain/Managerial/Soft Skills
  • Participate in design discussions and code reviews
  • Design skills and programming experience on high performance systems in Java
  • Electronic trading knowledge and experience
  • Equities and Futures knowledge
  • Regional Team Lead experience
  • Stakeholder management, including facing off to the trading desk and business product partners

Desired Skills: Technical/Domain/Managerial/Language Skills
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Asia market micro structure knowledge
  • FIX protocol knowledge
  • Agile software process experience such as Scrum, Kanban, XP, LeSS
  • Java, C++, C#, Python
  • Test and build pipeline automation including BDD, Selenium, Robot framework, Ansible
  • Unix (Linux)
