We Offer
The Financial Crime Compliance (FCC) function is responsible for advising the business on the appropriate standards for compliance with the applicable AML/CFT laws, rules and regulations, advising on higher ML clients and transactions, providing training and the monitoring of client activities.

The individual will be part of the team responsible for conducting AML related investigations and any applicable suspicious transaction reporting with the local authorities for the Private Banking business of Singapore. The role will report into the Singapore Head of FCC Investigations.

  • Undertake investigations into potential suspicious activity reported by staff, raised by AML Surveillance team (Mantas), triggered from production orders, regulatory requests, media monitoring etc.
  • As part of investigation process, advise and engage Front Office and/or business partners to understand the potential money laundering and terrorism financing risks business on the investigation cases.
  • Where a reasonable suspicion is formed, recommend and prepare the appropriate Suspicion Transaction Report with the concurrence of the MLRO or delegate to the applicable local authorities.
  • Follow through on end-to-end process including client retention recommendation, addition of names to watch lists and other risk mitigation measures on time.
  • Support any review work that may be carried out post STR filing.
  • Produce appropriate management information and raise potential issues to the Investigation Head on time.
  • Draft, review and produce policies or procedures for the AML investigation framework as needed.
  • Support Singapore Head of FCC Investigations in designing and implementing a robust investigative framework that is fit for purpose.
  • Stay on top of the latest money laundering typologies and other case studies as well as translating the latest investigative techniques or evolving money laundering typologies into investigative work.
  • Represent as needed FCC in change the bank or run the bank projects related to AML investigation framework.
  • Support Singapore Head of FCC Investigations in handling any applicable audit or inspections.
  • Any other tasks assigned by the manager.

You Offer
  • You possess a Degree, qualified with at least 5 years of track record in money laundering investigations or other related financial crime or AML disciplines; those with less experience may be considered for an AVP position.
  • You have analytical skills with an eye for detail, and the ability to identify relevant issues with appropriate resolution strategies.
  • Good social skills with strong report writing skills.
  • Comfortable to be in a role which requires making judgement.
  • You have a can-do personality. You should be independent and hands-on in approach but also a team-player.
  • You have the ability to prioritise and deal with high pressure or time compressed situations.
  • Ability to deal with a large book of work across a broad spectrum of activities.
  • Possess deep knowledge of investigative techniques and money laundering typologies. Also a deep understanding of Singapore AML/CFT laws and regulations.
  • Prior experience of AML investigations in private banking environment would be advantageous.
  • You are able to work well with colleagues of the bank including, business, operations, other Compliance colleagues and regional FCC management etc.
  • Your knowledge of Microsoft Excel VBA is advantageous.
