Job Description:

Job Purpose:

The Asia Citibusiness franchise has a presence across the region with operations in 8 markets, $256MM in Revenues, 6.6B in footings and 269M Clients. The business provides holistic banking for emerging small & medium enterprises with Corporate & Consumer products. Key focus is to drive customer growth, increase product penetration, improve segment profitability while ensuring optimal operating efficiency. Focus will primarily be on delivering best in class value proposition encompassing remarkable customer experiences, a targeted asset product suite and a well-defined customer segmentation strategy, supported by a robust customer engagement model. The role will require the individual to develop plans for acceleration in some key markets (new channels, digital solutions etc.), work closely with credit & risk to evaluate product viability, ensure all regulatory requirements are adhered to (risk, AML & fraud controls), evaluate the viability of providing the trade product and manage the P&L for the business. The individual will need to work in close partnership with other Regional Leads - AML, CBORC, Risk, Fraud etc. and the Citibusiness Heads in markets to provide end to end coverage of the business model.             

Key Responsibilities:

Overall Business and P&L Management
  • Responsible for the overall strategy for the APAC region covering 8 markets/businesses for Citibusiness
  • P&L ownership of the Citibusiness segment and responsible for growing the franchise
  • Thought leadership on key growth drivers, product opportunities and engage with regional, global and country partners
Portfolio and Product Management
  • Devise, implement and manage regional strategies and portfolio actions to deepen customer portfolio and deliver profitable revenue growth, working with country teams, and key regional parties
  • Work closely with key internal stakeholders and external partners to enhance existing acquisition programs and channels and develop new ones to drive new client growth
  • Work closely with key stakeholders on portfolio activities to on-board new clients, increase customer product depth ratio, drive incremental footings and loans, win back below balance customers etc.
  • Work closely with internal stakeholders & country business teams to drive common threshold, target segment acquisition definition and develop profitability models
  • Identify product gaps by market and implement new product solutions working in close partnership with Regional Risk teams and Country business teams
  • Identify growth opportunities from partnerships and leverage synergies with the Retail business/segment model (CG/CPC)
  • Monitor, review and manage segment growth and profitability by country
  • Develop and execute overall entities management strategy for the region with close focus on target segment, controls and optimization                                                                                                                                                                                                                                             
Regulatory and Risk Oversight
  • Work with the Regional Retail CBORC Head to execute a robust control and governance framework for Citibusiness keeping in pace with the evolving business landscape
  • Work with Regional counterparts (including AML, Legal, Compliance) to provide oversight and support the development of effective surveillance and monitoring parameters and Key Risk Indicators (KRIs), Manager's Control Assessment (MCA)
  • Review and analyze the Quarterly Key Operational Risk (KOR)/ Key Risk and Control Indicators (KRCI) results working in close partnership with CBORC, highlight breaches and work with the regional and country process owners to develop action plans to remediate the weaknesses
  • Analyze regional metrics, red flags and issues to identify risk trends and the root cause of issues, support and assist in the recommendation of actions and solutions to address the gaps
  • Support the region and functions on gap analysis and the implementation of global policy requirements and regional standards, and incorporate the updates in Regional Consumer Controls Procedures Manual (RCCPM) as required
  • Drive critical enhancements to the Manager's Control Assessment (MCA) program through alignment with evolving risks as well as changing needs and policies, and ensuring comprehensive mapping of the Regulatory Control Matrix to the MCA
  • Help drive a strong control culture and ensuring permanent controls readiness through proactive risk management and issue self-identification
  • Provide leadership on Internal Audit reviews, Branch reviews, Risk reviews, and Regulatory exams related to Citibusiness
  • Lead or support as appropriate the root cause analysis of material risk events and control breaks, work with country/regional functions and businesses to establish effective feedback loop to augment control management and share lessons learned with the country and region teams



Technical Skills:

  • University graduate with at least 15 years of experience with strong strategic, analytical and product management (Retail Bank/ Citibusiness) skills
  • Good working knowledge of Citibusiness products and processes (trade, unsecured lending, Commercial Real Estate etc.)
  • Good understanding of various digital and customer engagement channels
  • Good understanding of operational risk and control processes and procedures
  • Excellent quantitative, analytical and problem solving skills with attention to details
  • Strong ability to understand financial reporting and growth metrics
