This is an entry level position for Fresh Graduates who are passionate in HR. This individual will perform a wide range of HR duties and provide support to the Head of HR, Asia, the HR Operations Manager, Asia and the HR Business Partner. The successful candidate will focus most of his/her time on recruitment administration, HR reporting and analysis work, employee relations, learning and development coordination & HR projects.

Major Accountabilities:

Recruitment:

  • Advertise permanent, full-time positions internally and externally on the Westpac website and on LinkedIn
  • Recruit contractors and permanent candidates for various roles in the Bank
  • Manage the recruitment system and open up roles to recruitment firms as and when necessary
  • Act as a key point of contact for recruitment enquiries
  • Support hiring managers with their recruitment needs, including preparing JDs, advertising job vacancies, obtaining the necessary hiring approvals, screening candidates, shortlisting, preparing job offers and on-boarding new hires
  • Assist the Head of HR, Asia and the HRBP, Asia with recruitment activity where required, including scheduling interviews, following up with recruitment agencies, preparing employment contracts, completing verbal reference checks and following up to make sure that all background checks have been completed
  • Liaise with our external background checking company and ensure that the candidate’s background checks have been completed
  • Continuously manage and review our preferred list of recruitment firms and supplier agreements
  • Establish and manage an internal candidate database and capture unsolicited and referred resumes
  • Manage the recruitment tracking report and provide regular recruitment reports and turnover statistics to the Head of HR, Asia
  • Manage contractor recruitment activity including the maintenance of accurate workforce records
  • Manage graduate and intern recruitment for the Singapore office
  • Promote Westpac’s brand to external candidates
  • Build a strong working relationship with the Talent Acquisition team in Australia and the HR team in Singapore
  • Assist in managing Contractor recruitment activity including maintenance of accurate workforce records, monitoring contract dates and contractor payroll

HR Support:

  • Manage compliance requirements such as the annual background checks for Representative roles
  • Provide support to the HR Operations Manager by working on the employee engagement survey
  • Manage service recognition programs
  • Update HR policies to ensure that they are aligned with Group policies
  • Keep employee records up-to-date by processing employee status changes in a timely manner through relevant HR systems
  • Assist the Head of HR, Asia to prepare headcount, turnover and various other reports using PowerPoint and Excel
  • Maintain HR files
  • Take on additional HR duties/projects as assigned by the Head of HR, Asia

Learning & Development:

  • Coordinate various Learning and Development programs in Asia and work closely with the L&D team in Australia
  • Track, monitor and file Government training grants
  • Provide ad hoc support for Learning & Development activities

Requirements:

  • A strong desire to work in Human Resources
  • A Bachelor Degree with a minimum of Second Upper Honors or Cum Laude (Distinction) or equivalent;
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills (English and Mandarin required)
  • Good knowledge and understanding of Singapore employment law
  • Strong team player who is willing to share the workload with other team members
  • A positive and flexible attitude
  • Meticulous and strong attention to detail
  • Excellent organisational skills and able to meet tight deadlines
  • Confident and assertive personality
  • Flexible about working hours and committed to getting the job done

  • Fresh graduates with less than 1 year of experience are welcome
