Reporting to the CIO of Global Banking Technology, the Head of Strategy & Business Management will be responsible for providing business management coverage for the department with global reach across multiple countries, in the areas of strategic planning, resource management & allocation, growth & change initiatives, risk & control management, communications support and day-to-day administration of the business. Line management of a small team of business administration is included in the role.

Strategy and Business Performance
* Support the CIO in developing, driving and coordinating a consolidated business strategy; actively participate in supporting strategy implementation; identify and analyse strategic opportunities
* Assist in structuring and supporting key initiatives across the department, CIB ITO and Business functions
* Keep the CIO abreast of key developments in other areas of the Bank
* Support the CIO in membership/attendance of the relevant Management Committees, and all other meetings as required
* Ensure the CIO is briefed and prepared as necessary for all speaking engagements, including the preparation of speaking notes, preparation of presentation slides, and engaging Subject Matter Experts as appropriate
* Assist with the co-ordination of meetings, agenda formulation, review of papers, attendance and note taking and follow up on key actions
* Work with Business and Finance counterparts on investment management, planning and cost control initiatives
* Monitor portfolio status and department performance against budgets
* Prepare presentations and monthly management reports
* Undertake ad hoc projects for the department and CIB ITO as required

Regulatory, Business Conduct, Governance and Risk
* Understand and ensure compliance with, in letter and spirit, all applicable laws, regulations and guidelines, the Group's policies and procedures, and the Group Code of Conduct
* Take personal responsibility for understanding the risk and compliance requirements of the role
* Support the CIO in discharging responsibilities pertaining to his membership of segment committees and governance forums
* Effectively and collaboratively identify, escalate, mitigate and resolve risk and compliance matters
* Ensure risk metrics are actively reviewed in course of regular management meetings, and where necessary along with relevant risk and control functions

Communication and People
* Act as the main contact and information source in the department; monitor communication flow among all parties (internal and external)
* Support ITO and Global Banking Communications in the execution of the broader communications strategy and drive the communication agenda
* Play a key role within the department to employ, engage and retain high quality people to deliver overall objectives
* Play a role within the department to create a motivational and challenging environment for staff which is conducive to creativity and performance with client centricity in mind
* Work in close coordination and alignment with relevant business and support functions at group, regional and country level.

* CIB ITO senior management and BPMs
* Global Banking Technology management and their direct reports
* Business COO senior management and their direct reports
* GTO Finance

Qualifications and Skills

* Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Finance, Accounting, IT Management or a related field
* 10-15 years of business strategy and management experience
* Experienced in developing strategy, influencing relevant stakeholders and decision makers, and executing decisions efficiently and consistently
* Ability to lead and control programme and/or project management in the context of a significant amount of change
* Excellent organisational skills with ability to manage multiple deadlines, effectively prioritise and perform under pressure
* Experienced in supporting a global group and ability to work in a highly collaborative manner across the network
* Excellent stakeholder engagement skills and ability to adapt to different styles according to target audience
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills
* Proficient in MS Office Suite including Excel and PowerPoint
* Strong knowledge and understanding of the Group and its businesses and functions
* Project Management skills to undertake and supervise/monitor projects
* Numerate and able to understand and analyse financial information
* Trustworthy and discrete, and able to exercise good judgment
* An ability to think quickly, multi task and work quickly under pressure
* An ability to quickly understand and synthesise complex, fast moving issues
