Job Purpose:  
  • Business Planning and Strategy : Providing Business Planning and analysis support for the all the Business lines: Retail, Cards, Loans. Be the liaison between AIA and Citi for all financial transactions and reporting.
  • Business analysis : Collaborate with countries in identifying their key sales drivers, conducting periodic reviews and analyzing trends to highlight areas of opportunity and flag risks.
  • EMEA lead : Managing the profitability, Sales performance and business management for EMEA markets across business lines Retail and Cards.
Key Responsibilities:

Business Planning and Strategy
  • Prepare annual plans for the different business lines within Insurance (Retail revenue, Cards revenue and VONB). Model the allocation for all countries based on historical trends and future business opportunities.
  • Engage with all 17 markets to build roadmaps for delivering their revenue targets, every year with segregation between cards and retail.
  • Help the countries leverage best business practices across markets and optimize the sales levers to increase productivity.
  • Lead strategic plan reviews to assess performance by country and provide risk scenarios to senior management. Identify opportunities to mitigate the risk
  • Provide oversight to countries and management on the AIA driven VONB metric.
  • Produce monthly achievement reports, presentations and reviews as well as other financial reporting requirements for all internal, external and senior management discussions
Liaison with AIA
  • Be the single point contact for all financial and data related interaction with AIA. Coordinate transmittals, support data management, overview all reports and reviews.
  • Support all reviews and have oversight on Contract management
  • Liaise with AIA and Citi financial controllers to ensure receipt of service fee from AIA and any other adhoc payments

Business Analysis
  • Develop strategic and financial analyses to inform and support the business planning efforts.
  • Provide timely analyses to support institutional decision-making - key ask of this assignment
  • Continuous engagement with all regional (Finance, S&D, Decision Management) and in-country stakeholders (CIMs, RB heads, Sales Heads) to be aware and pro-actively work towards flagging risks, downward trends in productivity, headwinds and thereafter support in providing mitigation or corrective action plans.
  • Develop a data management mechanism to collate, consolidate, track and report on a regular and adhoc basis to provide for business updates, senior management reviews, country overviews regularly.
  • Jointly own the business plan ( $40MM for 2018) of the EMEA markets with country business heads
  • Lead efforts to identify organic growth opportunities.
  • Leverage the opportunities to support, prepare strategic plans (short and long term) to increase profitability.
  • Focus on key drivers and initiatives and to utilize the opportunities and meet plans
  • Conduct periodic reviews to assess performance, foresee risks, build mitigation strategies.
  • Build a highly engaged working model with the country teams
Build Talent
  • Help train new members of the team with financial aspects of business.
  • Support team in identifying opportunities and priorities from a Sales metric and Financial lens
  • Groom the resource assigned to me to develop a sharper business sense. For her to be able to lead projects esp Data automation
  • Train and support interns assigned to the team on sales and business aspects.


  • Bachelor's Degree - Qualifications in Banking and Financial Services
  • 8 to 10 years of experience minimum with preferably solid experience in business planning
