My client is a global wealth management consultancy and they are looking for a Head of Compliance. You will be overall responsible for compliance and risk management for the Group and will be working with Business Heads globally in defining strategic directions. This position is based in Singapore.

Key Responsibilities: 

  • Providing stewardship in the planning, design and implementation of policies and procedures in various jurisdictions of operations in response to applicable laws, regulatory requirements to manage risks
  • Strategize, formulate and implement compliance management functions for the organisation and ensure adequate compliance and risk management oversight for each jurisdiction of operation
  • Conduct risks assessments which involve analysing risks as well as identifying, describing and estimate risks affecting the organisation on the whole
  • Prepares risk evaluation which involves comparing estimated risks with criteria established by the organisation such as costs, legal requirements and environmental factors and evaluating organisations risk appetite
  • Prepares risk reporting in an appropriate way for different audiences, for eg. to the Board of Directors, Committees, Trustee, Regulators etc.;
  • Ensure sufficient oversight of Board, management and employees compliance with the rules and regulations of regulatory bodies and that company policies and procedures are being followed
  • Liaison with internal and external auditors
  • Managing compliance team, recruiting and training specialists
  • Attend to regulators in the absence of country specific person to do so.

Requirements: 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Law, Compliance, Finance & Banking, Business Management or a related field.
  • Minimum of 5-8 years of experience in handling compliance, risk management or operations within a regulated financial institution
  • Able to work with regulatory compliance provision across jurisdictions
  • Possess at least 5-8 years of managerial experience
  • Knowledge in Malaysian Capital Markets a plus
  • Preferably Managers specializing in Banking/Financial Services or equivalent 
  • Travel may be required
