WeInvest is a wealth technology platform provider for banks, wealth and asset managers, insurance companies and independent financial advisors. WeInvest’s complete end-to-end investment offering covers the technology platform, investment strategies, operations, execution and custody of client assets. We are operational in Malaysia, Indonesia, Hong Kong, China, India, Singapore, Dubai and UK.

Overview of role

With the growth and expansion of the business into the various markets, we are looking to hire a Head of Finance based in Singapore. This position will be part of the key management team and will report to the Chief Executive Officer, based in Singapore. The key responsibilities of the role include the following:

1. Monthly management, financial and regulatory reporting
a. Management Reporting
i. Set up a robust reporting mechanism to provide regular and ad-hoc management reporting and financial analysis to the CEO and the Board, management team and other stakeholders.
ii. Put in place a framework for the cost and pricing strategy for the various platforms and products and the tracking of revenue and costs for profitability and margin analysis; and the billing to the respective clients
iii. Work with management and key stakeholders on the budget and forecasting process to better manage revenue growth and expenses control

b. Financial Control and reporting
i. Manage the outsourced accounting firm (“OAF”) in the keeping of books and records for all revenue, expenses and balance sheet items;
ii. Review the month-end financial closing and deliverables from OAF
iii. Ensure any tax, regulatory reporting and other submission required by local authorities and regulators are filed accurately and promptly
iv. Manage the external audit process and coordinate with OAF in the preparation of financial statements for annual statutory audit
v. Ensure finance workflow and processes commensurate with the business demands for effective risk management and good governance and are documented

2. Tax and Treasury:
a. Review that tax returns prepared by external consultants and ensure timely and accurate filing of these returns
b. Manage banks relationships with CEO and COO, and have a good handle and reporting on the cashflow forecast, capital and liquidity needs

3. Finance Operations:
Working closely with OAF and be responsible for accounts payable, accounts receivable, fee billing and collections, balance sheet reconciliations. Where activities are outsourced, manage the service level of outsourced service providers and review their deliverables. 

Essential Skills
• A Qualified Accountant with Degree in Accountancy or equivalent
• At least 8 years of relevant experience in financial control and management reporting
• Relevant industry experience in financial institutions
• Strong Microsoft skills especially MS Excel
• External auditing experience is desirable
• Be able to interact with internal and external stakeholders and to understand cross cultural differences;
• Strong written and verbal communication skills and be proficiently bilingual;
• Have a genuine interest in and curiosity about our business;
• Commitment and energy and good analytical skills;
• Ability to work on multiple deliverables concurrently.
