This is a deputy team lead role that focuses on the execution of the APAC Compliance Operations' mandate across 12 APAC locations for Investment Bank businesses, acting as deputy to the APAC Head of IB CCU. The Compliance Operations function is responsible for the execution of control activities along the client lifecycle enabling a robust view and understanding of all risks and regulatory requirements identified, reviewed, assessed and mitigated during client onboarding, change in circumstances, periodic reviews and terminations.

A. Execution of Compliance Operations' Global mandate

Identify, mitigate, monitor and report compliance risks through the following activities:

  • Provide Compliance approvals for all Client Identification matters, including ensuring all account approvals satisfied the required standards
  • Advise the Front Office and Control Functions on compliance risks related to client lifecycle
  • Perform supervisory control check on Compliance Operations' executed controls


B. Regulatory Developments, Policies and Procedures

  • To work with Compliance colleagues and update compliance procedures and manuals to ensure compliance controls are executed to align with policy and/or regulatory requirements


C. Projects

  • Represent Compliance Operations on the various Change-The-Bank or Run-the-Bank projects as needed
  • Identify, coordinate, undertake or lead projects as needed to improve process and update compliance procedures
  • Working with management teams in UK and US to ensure control alignments across Compliance Operations


D. Others

  • Align and coordinate with CCOs of other divisions, and other control groups for example Internal Audit and CRO
  • Any other tasks assigned by the Team Lead manager or department head

  • Experience in leading and guiding the team to reinforce Compliance requirements and promote strong Compliance culture
  • Experience in compliance reviews of KYC Files and providing exceptional approvals which are in line with the firm's established risk appetite
  • Strong technical expertise to provide advice on IB regulatory to Front Office
  • At least 5 year of solid AML track record part of which would need to be relevant CID / KYC / AML experience within an Investment Bank
  • Bachelor of Law / Accounting / Business / Economics / Finance and related academic qualification
  • Working knowledge and experience in AML/CFT regulations and requirements in Asia-Pacific countries, notably Singapore, Hong Kong and international AML standards (FATF, Wolfsberg)
