Job Description Job Purpose:

Senior transactor responsible for all aspects of sell down of trade assets (i.e. structuring, distribution and execution), both in the primary and secondary market. Senior Transactors cover specialized product areas i.e EAF, Supplier & Receivable Finance and FI (LCs and Loans). Support Trade business origination and growth by working with the product / sales team in providing market pricing, creating capacity via asset sales and buying assets to boost asset levels. Work with the origination team to ensure transaction structure is defeasible and with legal to develop sell down structures. Maintain, deepen / enhance existing investor relationships and add new investors. Build a strong macroeconomic awareness of investor trends, risk appetite, pricing analysis, country risk and ratings, liquidity positions.

Job Background/context:

Trade is part of Trade and Treasury Solutions and is one of the market leaders in providing Trade products to our corporate and FI client base. An integral part of Trade's growth strategy is our market leading ability to distribute Trade assets. Trade Risk Distribution manages all activities related to the distribution, syndication, sell-down and insurance of risks related to "Trade" products, and the process of transferring / selling these risks, in order to achieve credit, cross-border, or balance sheet relief which is critical for the following reasons:

(a) maintain a liquid asset book
(b) achieve superior portfolio returns
(c) manage asset levels
(d) undertake large ticket transactions
(e) overcome credit / cross-border / capital constraints

The Senior transactor would be an integral part of the Trade Risk Distribution team responsible for deal execution to achieve above objective on transaction and portfolio  level basis
Key Responsibilities:

  • Asset Sales: The person would be responsible for prompt and cost effective sales of all trade assets which have been assigned to the person for distribution by Trade product teams
  • Understanding product requirements i.e PAP, operational processes, credit requirements, Treasury costing mechanisms
  • Internal alignment with country / product / sale counterparts on what needs to be sold on specialized areas i.e  E AF, Supplier & Receivables Finance and FI (LCs and Loans)
  • Fundamental ability to understand underlying Trade transaction and to communicate clearly to investors.
  • Communicating with investors on transaction basis regarding specific transaction to be distributed
  • Sell down feedback / assessment: Provide up to date and timely feedback to the origination team on market pricing and appetite for trade assets. Conduct market reads for specific deals where necessary
  • Purchase assets from the secondary market when needed
  • Managing "originate-to-distribute", trade structuring, clubs and syndications deals.
  • Coordinating complex transactions with operations to ensure proper execution including Trade Deal Review, Accounting with Credit Admin and Fincon systems, credit facilities allocations.
  • Understand and negotiate legal documentation with investors i.e. Master Participation Agreements, BAFT, Transfer Certificates, LMA standard documentation, Non-disclosure Agreements etc.
  • Ensure that all asset sales adhere to Citi policy standard and any product programs which have been approved for use
  • Foster a strong "one team" mentality and interact with key business stakeholders.

Person Specification Knowledge/Experience:

  • Strong knowledge of Citi's credit and cross border policies and procedures.
