Manager, Business Analyst (Distribution)

You will be the single point of contact and the subject matter expert for IT needs with the Life & Distribution division of NTUC Income. You will need to lead and manage a team of Business Analysts to work collaboratively with all other IT Departments to support the Change Management for Life Distribution Applications and be the key integration between users and IT. This includes planning on-going production support and new development for the applications that supports Front-end Life Applications and Distribution Support systems.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Be the subject matter expert for users and IT Technical solution manager, developers on the changes required in the applications ensuring it integrates and adhere to the overall IT architecture development from the business perspective
  • Be a proficient Business Partner and Single Point of Contact for Life & Distribution Division supporting all the IT needs, including stakeholder management of key heads of department in L&D Division
  • Manage the user requirements raised for Front End Life Insurance Applications / Distribution support from the users with a team of Business Analysts (4-6) and vendors supporting development and production (both on-site and offshore).
  • Plan, prioritise and manage the change requests and adhoc projects raised by various departments in the organization supporting the Life business in Income that impacts the Front-end Life & Distribution Support systems.
  • Work with users to build up business case, justify cost benefit analysis getting necessary approvals to support projects involving IM and users.
  • Planning and executing as the Business Analyst Manager / Lead for the various IT projects to support the growth initiatives for Front-end Life Applications & Distribution Support
  • Provide IT Business Support Lead in the business change with users for the enhancements and projects including, planning designing and implementing of INCOME's Life Front End applications and Distribution Support Systems and applications.
  • Identifying and working with key vendors to ensure enhancements and production support are delivered on target and according to SLAs. Align business change development approach and strategy in accordance to New IT Architecture and Roadmap.
  • Ensure integration to Front End Point of Sales Tools, Back Office Support and Realigning the process and procedures for Front-end Life Distribution Processes are optimized with the adoption of new technologies across the business and the relevant supporting units. This includes and is not limited to Web Strategy, Digital Sales Force/ Application, Bancassurance solutions, Workflow and content management (including re-organising and restructuring of workflow processes and document flow and management in the Life Operations and the relevant business units which are affected by the changes.
  • Responsible for Functional Testing of systems before release to UAT for User Testing
  • Managing users for adhoc / urgent change requests
  • Support User Acceptance Test Planning & automated and manual testing
  • Responsible for budgeting and spend management for Life & Distribution section, primarily focusing on the vendor outsourcing arrangement, and resource augmentation for BA team
  • Assessing and managing vendors to ensure
    • Business Requirements are delivered according the change request raised.
    • Effort estimates are appropriate for the change requirements raised
    • Deliveries from vendors and developers meets standards and user requirements
    • Continuous development and enhancements of Front End Life & Distribution Support Systems are in line with new IT Architecture
You will be part of the change management team that manages change requirements from the users for all IT systems needs and work with the appropriate resources within IM and /or vendors to support to deliver the changes .

Qualifications
  • Degree holder in Information Technology, Info Systems or equivalent
  • Min 6 years experience in Business Analyst Management in Insurance Industry, developing Life Insurance Front End Applications and Distribution systems.
  • Experience in implementing of Service Oriented Architecture (SOA) and digital solutions.
  • Up-to-date with strong understanding of current digital and online trends, concepts, strategy and best practices
  • Strong understanding of the insurance business domain, business process re-engineering using digital capabilities and online to support distribution and life insurance products
  • Strong passion for and knowledge of technology and digital marketing
  • Possesses excellent communication, interpersonal, program management and leadership skills
