The Role Responsibilities
  • Contribute on execution of DCDA Business Strategy, particularly as it pertains to Risk, Control and
  • Governance, working closely with DCDA colleagues and stakeholders.
  • Establishment and management of the DCDA governance framework, including its Process Universe and oversee its alignment within ERMF, CCIB risk management framework, and the evolving risk management approach under the Bank's New Ways of Working
  • Establish and reinforce exemplary risk management, control and governance for the DCDA operating unit, working closely with the Unit and Business Heads and Functional stakeholders.
  • Establish, implement, and manage an effective risk management and assurance framework across DCDA, in accordance with internal policies, external laws & regulations.
  • Design and implement existing, new and upgraded Procedures processes as they pertain to DCDA, in accordance with Bank Policy and DCDA and CCIB priorities, balancing risk, control and effectiveness.
  • Design, establish and manage the DCDA Conduct agenda, including the Supervisory Framework and all necessary Conduct governance and MI.
  • In all aspects above, ensure risk identification and management for DCDA is established in a transformative way that is future fit-for-purpose for a digital enabled and enabling COE for CCIB and in the context of the Bank's NWoW and Client Journey framework.
Strategy
  • Support DCDA COO and Unit Heads on executing the strategic agenda with an aim to maximizing
  • shareholder value by identifying horizon risks, and recommending risk management opportunities that create value via enhanced and more effective risk identification and mitigation.
  • Jointly with Group Operational Risk team and the CCIB Transformation team, to develop and implement a global framework for operational risk management in DCDA, including process optimisation and control effectiveness.
  • Look to continuously improve productivity and efficiency and drive a standardization agenda for DCDA by identifying issues and opportunities and designing and delivering solutions.
  • Coordinate alignment among DCDA and support functions and drive a standard and consistent approach through the Regions.
Processes
  • Where applicable, take up DCDA PU Global Process Ownership (GPO) responsibilities and work closely with RFOs on optimal risk management, including establishing a fit-for-purpose assurance model
  • Drive continuous improvement of operational efficiency for the processes owned in collaboration with relevant Functions.
  • Support DCDA via design, prioritization and implementation of risk management-related change initiatives and regulatory projects where applicable within DCDA in partnership with Risk, Compliance, Product departments and Group OR
Risk Management
  • Act quickly and decisively to resolve any risk and control weakness, ensure they are addressed and remediated within appropriate timeframes, and escalated through the relevant committees
  • Ensure that Risk Management matters that are brought to the job holder's attention are subject to direct remedial action and/or escalation to appropriate risk committees
  • In coordination with DCDA Transformation lead, ensure the CCIB digital platform is performing to an acceptable risk and control standard as per the defined ORF framework
  • Lead the DCDA ORTF agenda and implementation plan, including obligations stemming from and new or changed procedures.
  • Responsible for identifying, assessing, monitoring, controlling, and mitigating risks for all owned processes in collaboration with Group OR and relevant Risk Owners.
  • Develop and maintain fit-for-purpose Risk MI for DCDA
  • Ensure all material risks in owned processes are monitored and managed within the Group defined risk tolerance thresholds, and where necessary, escalated in accordance with the Group's Enterprise Risk Management Framework.
  • Working closely with Regional stakeholders, embed risk awareness and management among Regional and Country stakeholders through regular assurance, communication and training.
  • Take a lead role in partnering with GIA and Unit Heads on audit planning, preparation, engagement, and management to help proactively and effectively identify and mitigate risks.
  • Contribute on DCDA relevant papers tabled at various Group Committees
Governance
  • Lead and manage the DCDA NFRC and DAGF to the highest governance standards and execute its responsibilities in line with the Terms of Reference.
  • In parallel, transform the DCDA risk management and governance approach to a NWoW approach aligned to the risk squad model within QPR/CJ model
  • Establish and maintain an effective unit and risk governance between Group and Country and across CCIB
  • Embed awareness and understanding of the regulatory and operational risk framework among country stakeholders through regular Risk communication and MI.
  • Drive and embed an effective awareness and oversight of horizon and thematic risk and control issues across the DCDA operating unit and countries
