Take responsibility in aspects of finance and accounting related matters and raise issues upwards to local Management. Responsible for reporting and monitoring regulatory requirements as it applies to both ABN AMRO Clearing Singapore Pte Ltd & ABN AMRO Clearing Bank N.V (where applicable). Deliver accurate and timely financial data and analysis for internal and external reporting (includes monthly local and HO management reporting, regulatory and statutory reporting and general ledger maintenance).
KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Statutory Reporting:
Assist in yearly audited financial accounts and tax computations. Responsible for the completion of the audit work in liaison with external auditors in a timely manner. Ensure the accounts comply with local accounting standards.
- Tax & indirect tax compliance:
Have an understanding of local tax framework and to ensure compliance with the tax legislation.
Prepare and review GST reconciliations for quarterly lodgement to IRAS.
- General Ledger maintenance:
Responsible for the completeness and accuracy of the general ledger accounts. This includes the review of the monthly general ledger reconciliations. Establish a relationship with local Finance and Accounting team within ABN AMRO Bank to resolve matters as it arises.
- Recovery of expenses:
To ensure the recording of and the recovery of expenses from Direct Market Access (DMA) clients. To keep track of expenses and any gap in recovery of such expenses. Responsible for the preparation of invoices and any overdue/outstanding invoices.
- Regulatory reporting and monitoring
Prepare, review, analyse and submit Regulatory (i.e., SGX and MAS) reports as requires, and in accordance to the Regulations. To assess and forecast the company's position as matter raises and/or prior to any potential adverse matter arises. Establish a relationship with key relevant contacts with MAS and SGX in relation to finance aspects.
Prepare surveys and other ad hoc reports as required by the regulators and the Department of Statistics.
- Local and HO reporting:
Prepare, review, analyse and submit local HO reporting in a timely manner. To ensure accuracy and reflection of the company's financial status and in accordance to IFRS.
- General finance and accounting matters:
Responsible for all finance and accounting matters not mentioned in the above. E.g., monitor the company's FX exposure, funding and bank reconciliation sign-off, assist with yearly budget process. Ensure control in the accounts payable process to make sure invoices received are duly approved before processing, payments are made on time to avoid late penalties etc. Continuous evaluation of Finance processes and procedures, followed by improvement/updating as required.
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE AND EXPERIENCE
- Qualified Accountant ISCA or equivalent.
- Experience with MAS and/or SGX reporting requirements.
- Strong technical accounting and local tax experience
- Strong analytical skill
- Knowledge of Exchange and MAS rules
- Preferably >7 years in a similar role
