Position Description

As part of the Global Markets Operations organization in Asia, the Exchange Traded Derivatives (ETD) team is looking for a highly motivated senior professional. The organization has a Market Operation team which comprises of, Clearing, Deliveries, Regulatory / Exchange and Process Control, Strategy, Client Service and Documentation Teams. This structure is replicated regionally in Chicago and EMEA processing trading activity over 60+ Exchanges.

The main responsibility of an ETD Accounting Control & Risk Management associate is perform T+1 reconciliation between firms' books and CCPs/3rd party brokers and ensuring the accuracy of setups within our internal systems

Key Responsibilities

  • Conducting through root cause break analysis and remedial actions as necessary.
  • Managing the risk and financial exposure of the ETD business and engaging the necessary parties.
  • Collaboration with Global finance teams and the Front Office Sales desks to conduct risk management and product control metrics.
  • Conduct internal general ledger reconciliations and provide ownership & validation of the balances in Oracle general ledger and respective subledgers.
  • Perform client money calculations in accordance with local regulations.

Key Requirements
  • College Degree
  • Excellent written and verbal English communication skills
  • The role will demand that the candidate is a strong communicator and team player, as the function demands frequent interaction with business partners as well as clients
  • Must be well versed in client execution and clearing, for both futures and derivatives products on global markets
  • Must be able to work in a fast paced environment and be an effective multi-taker
  • Must be organized, detailed oriented and have the ability to manage time effectively to meet client needs within appropriate time frames
  • Act without immediate supervision and have the ability to take ownership of tasks/processes
  • Evaluate the risk elements of such a client facing role and a role in a regulated industry and ensure tasks are carried out in a controlled fashion
  • Experience with GMI, as well as other systems associated with cleared Futures and Derivatives
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word and PowerPoint. MS Access is a plus
  • Able to communicate effectively peer to peer and Senior Management
  • Independent and self-motivated to deliver, ability to deal with a wide scope of demands of the role
  • Prior experience in reconciliations as per the above Responsibilities a requirement
  • Prior experience within Futures & Options preferred.
  • Additional cross product exposure such as OTC, Prime Brokerage and Repo Margining would be advantageous
