Position Description
Background: Risk and Finance Technology (RFT) Team provides solutions for control, reporting, data warehousing and risk management solution across the Finance organisation of the firm. Specifically, the Valuation Control development team design technology solutions that enables independent valuation control and reconciliation across entire spectrum of financial products in the asset and liabilities trading inventories within Global Market domain.

We are seeking strong developers who would like to pursue a career in technical tracks within Investment Banking to work on our Angular 5 and Quartz (Python) platforms.

Key Responsibilities

  • Spending more than 80% of time in code design and programming
  • Contribute to the build out of the control and reconciliation modules for the global Valuation Control project
  • Develop technology solutions to business problems using modern software tools and development best practices
  • Collaborate with global teams to design and build new functionalities and migrate existing functionalities to the new build out Angular 5 and Quartz platforms
  • Independently represent the team to face off with users and stakeholders to capture requirements without going through business analysts or project managers
  • Make judgments and triage feature requests and being able to push back on features not valuable
  • Drive for excellence in code quality to achieve high reliability, maintainability, robustness and scalability

Key Requirements
  • Experience with full stack development
    • Hands-on experience in Python, Java, C# or .Net with good understanding of the individual language features is a must
    • Good experience with modern web technology frameworks like Angular 5, ReactJS
  • Good understanding of common algorithms and data structures
  • Strong problem-solving and analytics skills
  • Good understanding of SDLC and Agile Methodologies (including but not limited Scrum/Kanban) to apply automated testing, code review, continuous integration and version control system, dev ops, releases
  • Good experience in dealing with data, including designing storage and manipulation/extraction on various levels
  • Good communication and presentation skills

Desirable Traits
  • Familiarity with Investment Banking products such as securities and derivatives
  • Familiarity with sub ledgers and general ledgers
