Project Manager (IFRS / US GAAP) - Contract

Our client is a leading Global Bank in Singapore.

This role is an exciting opportunity for an experienced Project Manager from a Risk / Regulatory / Finance background to join a long-term project with global remit.


  • Co-ordinate between Credit Risk and the global project team and point of contact for escalation and resolutions of issues pertaining to US GAAP / IFRS9 reporting and implementation project.
  • Participate and represent Credit Risk Management in various project workshops to provide assessment and business requirements to the design of processes and model.
  • Lead in cascading the designed process to divisions, such as design and implement internal review process for Credit Risk and ensure effective transfer of knowledge to Credit Risk Officers, who is the eventual owner of the process.

The candidate is also expected to support Credit Portfolio Management :
  • Assess the impact the profitability of the portfolio.
  • Advise pre-deal and pre-transaction analysis for large exposures.
  • Other initiatives such as portfolio review, calibration and monitoring credit portfolio metrics to achieve its' mandate to better risk manage and optimize the risk-return of portfolios.

Key Responsibilties

Function as SME in one or more of the following areas:
  • Credit Risk with sound product knowledge
  • Proven experience in building policies and processes in IFRS 9 ECL /US GAAP CECL implementation in a global environment
  • Experience with IFRS 9 ECL/ US GAAP CECL modelling/ Basel IRB modelling, ability to provide inputs on PD, LGD and EAD model development
  • Good knowledge of IFRS 9 /US GAAP accounting standards and Basel regulatory guidelines
  • Good knowledge of credit portfolio management including stress testing modelling and credit risk appetite
  • Provide business requirements and suggest best practices to implement CECL processes
  • Support all phases of implementation of the CECL project including business requirements, design, data requirements, modelling, configuration, user acceptance testing and go-live
  • Conduct workshop to educate APAC credit officers on CECL computation and modelling
  • Develop reporting tools such as movement analysis report to assist APAC credit officers in final sign off of CECL
  • Keep abreast of product and industry updates and engage with broader consulting team to share best practices and contribute to knowledge management

Essential Skills and Qualifications
  • Accounting standards : IFRS 9 ( including local regulatory requirements in SG, HK, AUS and India) and US GAAP
  • Basel IRB modelling
  • Project Management
