As part of Global Risk, Regulatory Compliance ensures adherence to applicable regulations and standards by setting the policies which cover HSBC's regulatory requirements, and mitigate conduct and reputational risk issues. The team strives to remain ahead of the regulatory change agenda and ensures the business understands the implications and is prepared for change. It monitors how the Global Businesses and Functions manage their responsibilities with regard to complying with the regulations and helps resolve compliance deficiencies.

We are currently seeking a high caliber professional to join our team as VP, Regulatory Affairs and Policy and Conduct Compliance.

Principal responsibilities

  • Support the execution of a structured and consistent framework to identify, assess, report on and respond to regulatory developments, engagement and policy in Singapore.
  • Monitor in country regulatory developments issued by regulators for HSBC regulated entities in Singapore, including updating of relevant records in the country compliance charts.
  • Support implementation of Global Regulatory Compliance Policy Governance framework and manage the in country regulatory compliance policy governance framework.
  • Support the structured and consistent implementation of the Conduct Compliance Global Approach in Singapore.
  • Provide Conduct Compliance advice and guidance through analysis, interpretation and communication of changes in the regulatory landscape highlighting potential impacts on business operations and with particular emphasis in supporting sustainable business growth and streamlining processes and procedures.
  • Assists on new and or revised business strategies, initiatives, and projects, which may include assisting businesses in assessing the risks associated with new or revised strategies and recommending and assessing mitigation efforts to reduce risk exposure.
  • Be a subject matter expert within Regulatory Compliance on managing interaction with our Regulators.
  • Assist in providing solutions to complex global issues and initiatives in an ever changing, high risk environment, as required.
  • Provide wider support and work collaboratively with all members of the Financial Crime Compliance and Regulatory Compliance functions.


Qualifications
Requirements
  • Significant compliance, regulatory and conduct risk experience across business lines.
  • Knowledge of current and emerging issues and trends in financial services regulatory environment and industry good practices.
  • Strong working knowledge of financial services regulations, products and services as well as regulatory protocols.
  • Knowledge of the HSBC Group structure, its business and personnel, and a deep understanding of HSBC corporate culture is an advantage.
  • Excellent communicator with strong interpersonal, influencing, negotiation and stakeholder management skills, including managing interactions with senior stakeholders and regulators where required.
  • Superior organizational and information analysis skills with ability to distill and analyze multiple sources of information on regulatory developments, findings and engagements using Microsoft Office and other tools.
  • Communicate insights and observations effectively to stakeholders to facilitate decision making on current emerging regulatory compliance and conduct risks.
  • Ability to think laterally and solve intricate problems.
  • Self starter, highly self motivated and able to work independently in a multidisciplinary environment.
