Who we are looking for
Lawyer working as part of the Asia-Pacific Legal team to provide full time regulatory, corporate governance and regional project support to the key APAC business units (Global Services, Global Markets, Global Advisors and Global Exchange) and corporate functions.

What you will be responsible for
As Regulatory Lawyer, Vice President you will:
  • advising on and providing APAC bank branch corporate governance support, including in relation to living wills and compliance with capital and prudential requirements, and advising the local Compliance function across business units on such prudential and supervisory matters;
  • advising and assisting the dedicated business unit legal teams in the implementation of requirements pursuant to new laws, including assisting the APAC team in ensuring continued integration of local regulatory requirements in global models;
  • advising on and assisting in the implementation of corporate reorganization, expansion, transformation or regional projects and governance;
  • advising the Regulatory, Industry and Government Affairs group on responses to proposed industry reforms and industry comment; and
  • participating in industry groups and forums as required.
What we value
These skills will help you succeed in this role
  • Solicitor with 6-8 years PQE with specialist regulatory experience in financial services, with experience one or more of the following areas in particular: banking, custody and/or investment management and administration.
  • Strong project management skills, with an ability to prioritise, deliver on deadlines and to execute multiple tasks with attention to detail
Education & Preferred Qualifications
  • Strong computer skills (including Word, Excel, Powerpoint)
  • Experience in APAC markets required. A combination of top-tier and in-house experience is desirable.
Additional requirements
  • Fluency in English and Mandarin required
  • Keen understanding of current regulatory developments in major APAC markets, in particular affecting licensing and prudential management
  • Ability to develop and sustain strong relationships within the organisation, including across multiple jurisdictions and different reporting levels
  • Ability to work collaboratively as required, and participate in and foster a team environment, but also to work independently as necessary
