SVP/VP, Solution Architect, Middle Office Technology, Technology & Operations
Business Function Group Technology and Operations (T&O) enables and empowers the bank with an efficient, nimble and resilient infrastructure through a strategic focus on productivity, quality & control, technology, people capability and innovation. In Group T&O, we manage the majority of the Bank's operational processes and inspire to delight our business partners through our multiple banking delivery channels. Responsibilities - Lead and drive the architecture working group in middle office to drive design consistency, solve cross platform pain points and reduce redundant work
- Hands-on experimentation, development and solutioning of new technologies and techniques
- Own the playbook for infrastructure, platform and solution architecture selection that optimizes for costs, technical fit, operational risks and aligns with strategic direction of the bank
- Play SME role on architecture patterns for new and existing apps in terms of maintenance, security, scalability, reliability, performance and reusability
- Develop, catalogue, assess, communicates, maintains and enforces consistent solutioning patterns across the platforms of Risk, Finance, Compliance & Audit
- Facilitate adaptation of best of breed technologies, including open source tools, with fit for purpose designs
- Continuously align various application teams to a set of consistent design principles that is congruent to evolution of technology
- Collaborate with application teams across the bank to support their efforts to modernize their application and platform architecture
- Ensure proper documentation of standard processes and best practices in place
- Champion as a change agent within organization
Requirement - Minimum 10-15 years of experience proven work experience as a Development Lead/ Architect
- Ability to perform technical hands-on work for rapid prototyping, experimentation & solutioning
- 5+ years of experience as a solution architect in the design and implementation of cloud native solutions (Cloud Foundry, Openshift, Docker, Kubernetes)
- Proficient in at least one major programming language - Java, Python, Javascript, C#, Golang, Kotlin
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills in order to facilitate workshops and engage senior management
- Ability to act as in a consultative manner with both business and IT leaders to align strategy
- In-depth knowledge of major application development frameworks / tools including Maven, Gradle, Spring, Spring Boot, ASP.NET
- Deep understanding of application, infrastructure and security architecture and non-functional aspects like performance, scalability, reliability and availability
- Deep knowledge and experience in Cloud Native/ API / Micro-services, Agile / Dev-Ops, CI / CD technologies and best practises
- Knowledge of software best practices e.g. Test-Driven Development (TDD) will be desirable
- Experience working with, or an interest in Agile Methodologies namely Extreme Programming (XP) and Scrum
- Good knowledge of web development standards, database technologies, No SQL platforms, & Hadoop eco system (especially Apache Spark)
- Knowledge and exposure to UI frameworks (such as Angular), Web Platforms (such as Web Components) would be an advantage
- Active participation in Industry & Technology forums would be a plus
