Financial Crime Risk is a Global Function that brings together all areas of financial crime risk management at HSBC and is dedicated to implementing the most effective global standards to combat financial crime. The function has been set up in a way that enables us to build on our achievements in managing financial crime risk effectively across the bank and continue to strengthen financial crime detection, anti-money laundering, sanctions and anti-bribery and corruption compliance.

We are currently seeking a high caliber professional to join our team as SVP, FCR Assurance .

Principal responsibilities ​

  • Be responsible to assist and support the Regional Money Laundering Control Officer in their functional oversight of the Compliance function in the region under the Compliance Assurance Operating Model with a view to assessing and ensuring that the compliance function is operating in line with the Group Compliance
  • Utilize the agreed Risk Based Model and agree a programme of Regional Assurance Reviews for each country with the Regional Compliance Officer. Track progress with the plan and the programme and perform a detail review of performance against plan at least on a quarterly basis
  • Undertake onsite Regional Assurance Review of the Area Compliance Officer and Money Laundering Compliance Officer and their activities across the compliance function within the country as defined by the Regional Review Plan and at such frequency dictated by the Risk Based Model
  • Liaise with the Heads of Compliance of the Global Businesses, the Senior Manager, Compliance Asia Pacific Compliance and the Hong Kong Local Compliance Officers in the review of various outputs from them and to ensure their functional and/or compliance reviews are conducted in line with the Assurance Operating Model
  • Upon completion of the review, prepare a report, discuss with Area Compliance Officers and Money Laundering Compliance Officers and the Regional Heads of Compliance of the Global businesses if required before finalizing the report. Send the finalized report to Group Compliance Assurance team relationship manager and Country Chief Executive Officer, within the time prescribed by the Risk Based Model.
  • Monitor implementation progress and provide such guidance and advice to country Area Compliance Officer and management if required


Qualifications
Requirements
  • Experience in working within compliance, legal or audit
  • Exposure to hands on Anti money laundering, risk management, operational, controls orientated role
  • Personal integrity and strong character
  • Good analytical , inter-personal and communication skills are essential
  • Willingness to travel around the Asia Pacific region
